I think I'm going to do Oswestrys Strongest Man as my first comp. Its on July 14th so I have almost 3 full months to get ready for it.

I'm very unsteady under the weight and my technique sucks so most of these were strict pressed. Just need more practise. Can't complain too much about a 95 press my second time doing them.

Deadlifts

My speed felt much better today. Very happy with the top triple.

Bench Press

Nice and easy.

Great session. You are very much where I was a few months back with the log, except stronger. Do as I did (or similar) as advised by shane and I can see you getting a 110kg log before long. Deads were nice too, 210s were fast, 220s nice and solid. 240 after that lot is strong work. Happy

Thanks man. Yeah that's definitely going to be the plan of attack with log. How heavy would you start? 60kg?

Well I kind of worked backwards from 100 with the weeks I had coming up to the comp (that I didn't do.lol) think it took me to 70kg. You don't really have a similar top end target but as your clean perhaps need a bit more work you could maybe start with 60 for 6 triples like I did, jusst to get the tech on easier cleans, then go up in 5kg's to 70/75, then up in 2.5 from there. You definately need multiple sets of some reps (3s) to get the familiarity before it gets heavy.
If we start Coan deads on a Monday I think I'll shift log to a tuesday with light bench.

That sounds like a plan. I may do some heavier pressing on a bar as well while the weights remain light on the log.
