Thats good to hear though, hope it makes a difference if a hammer deficits and stiff legs for a bit. If you got any good deadlift routines for the new year for me give us a shout, desperate to get them moving.
Are you talking about the lad you train with that lifted at the juniors? Aye his deads are certainly moving lol!

Yep that's the one, Neil, he keeps a log on here now. He has moved his deadlift on a huge amount by training it from a deficit and is currently doing another training cycle of them.

If you are looking for a good deadlift program it might be worth giving the Coan routine a shot, a lot of guys seem to do very well off of that.

Thats right i saw his vid from the juniors, i will watch his journal with interest then.

Have heard people trying the Coan routine, and making gains so thats what i will do in the new year after 6 wks of deficits, stiff legs and rack pulls till then, decision made lol!

Last two workouts were squat and deads so chest tonight but was going to leave bench for a bit cos my shoulder giving me jip, especially when taking the bar down, having said that gym busy and incline bench in rack free so...

INCLINE BENCHPRESS.

bar x lots.
60kg x 15.
80kg x 10.
90kg x 10.
100kg x 6.

Ok, defo leave bench for a bit. Cant say its even a pain, just not right and ive started taking bar down squinty as if to compensate?

DECLINE DUMBELL PRESS.

34kg x 10.
40kg x 10.
46kg x 6.

DUMBELL FLYES.

22kg x 10.
22kg x 15.
22kg x 10.

TRICEP DIPS.

bw x 10.
bw + 20kg x 10.
bw + 40kg x 6.
bw x 15.

STANDING BEHIND HEAD TRICEPS ( ez bar)

5kg aside x 15.
10kg aside x 15.
15kg aside x 10.
20kg aside x 6.

TRICEP PUSHDOWN.

20kg x 10.
30kg x 10.
40kg x 8.

ROPE PULLS.

15kg x 10 x 3.

Didnt feel shoulder with d.bell press, a bit on light flyes but nothing like bench, so be blasting d.bells, chest machine and tri,s on chest night for a bit then.

That's unfortunate news about the shoulder mate, your bench has been going really well. Sometimes a wee rest is a very good thing though, gives you a good chance to push on with squat and deadlift training.

Aye mate not sweating it, squats and deads need some attention and can keep chest n tri's strong without flat bench for a bit.

Ok, hit the Unit a couple o times before but not tried much event stuff but weekly event sessions start here!

Me and Polska Mat came through.

YOKE.

130kg x 24m.
180kg x 24m.
200kg x 24m x 2. (dropped and turned after 12m)

STONES.

85kg x 3.
85kg x 3.
100kg x 3.
85kg x 5.

FARMERS.

55kg x 24m
75kg x 24m x 2. (dropped and turned after 12m)

VIKING PRESS.

40kg x 10.
60kg x 10.
80kg x 10.
100kg x 5 x 2. (all strict press)

TYRE FLIP.

Smaller of the tyres x 2.

Wouldnt have been able to flip a 20 disc after the second, reckon polska Mat coulda flipped it all the way back to cumbernauld tho!
Good sesh, good laugh, light and long on the runs, first real go on the stones, all good.

aye, was good, sore today! Hard to get through same time as rest o lads but i try and get a regular gig sorted. You there tomorra? I back in gym teatime, squat n deads, mibbe even a suit to keep me warm!

lol, he studies strongman on youtube daily! Thats the way i will hit it for the now, lightish, plenty volume n crank it up weight wise in new year. Shoulda signed in under an false name, keep the secret seshs up for as long as poss!

WEDNESDAY.

Not trained since Friday but shoulda logged my daily snow shovelling exploits in a vain attempt to make work. No work but managed to get up gym for a quickie inbetween blizzards. Had my timbie boots, new wooly hat and loose suit to keep me warm for some squats...

SQUATS.

60kg x 10.
100kg x 10.
140kg x 5.
160kg x 5. (suit bots on)
180kg x 3. (suit bots and wraps)

Easy enough, stick with this for a bit see where it takes me.


18" RACK PULLS.

180kg x 5. (Noticed had no chalk so gave up)

STIFF LEG DEADS.

100kg x 10.
120kg x 10.
140kg x 5.
160kg x 3.
160kg x 3.
140kg x 5.

DEFICIT DEADS. (bar 4")

140kg x 3.
180kg x 3 x 2.

Deficits easier than stiff legs, dunno if that means anything or not? Keep at em anyway.

PREACHER CURLS. (EZ BAR)

10 aside x 20 x 2.
10 aside x 10.

STANDING CABLE CURLS.

Squatted again cos Maca due them, then 18" inch deads as i missed them yesterday.

SQUAT.

60kg x 5.
100kg x 5.
140kg x 5. (suit bots on)
160kg x 5.
185kg x 3. (suit bots, wraps)

5kg more than yesterday, keep easing it up.

18" RACKPULLS.

100kg x 5. (d.o.h)
140kg x 5 (d.o.h)

220kg x 2.
240kg x 1.
250kg x 1.
260kg x 1.
272.5kg x 1. (P.B)

Want to get 300kg at this and 200+ at my deficits before starting normal floor deads again.
