Great gym, great people, great atmosphere and some amazing lifts. Benchpress Started off raw and worked upto 130 iirc. Shirt on 1x150kg 1x155kg PB 1x160kg PB 1x165kg Fail didn't touch chest 1x167.5kg PB Squats A few sets of raw squats to warm up. Suit and wraps on 1x175kg 1x205kg 1x222.5kg PB 1x227.5kg PB That however does not tell the whole story. Rob pulled a double at 192.5kg for a PB, Boar benched a massive 170kg, Little A squatted 210x10 then deadlifted 200x10 and Fat Pete wrapped it all up by repping more weight than I could count. It was really good to meet all the guys and put some names to faces. Big thankyou to everyone there that made it such a good session. And a big thankyou to Boar for inviting me down and then putting up with me for a few hours as I arrived well early. I overheard Little A saying that sometimes you have to travel and he is right, sometimes you do but believe me it was worth every mile of the motorway journey. Hope to get back down again in the not too distant future. | ||

The result is that those that are left want to steam in. Last night was a perfect example. Note - I use the term 'gay' to describe exercises that are done with far lighter weights than the big 3, and that make you happy, hence the term 'gay'. Things like curls, kickbacks, flys etc are gay. Squat suits are homosexual though. For those that dont already know me please dont take me any more seriously than I take myself | ||

Mind came off the weight and onto the imminent s**tting myself incident, thus ending the lift. Decided to attempt it again but again the lift failed at the knees this time without any bowel movement. Ended the session as I was well pissed off. Deadlift attempts for the competition will now be 240/252.5/260. These are not subject to change and are probably the best I can manage. 600lbs will wait for another day. There will still be squat and bench singles on my next visit to Addlington but the rest of the run in will be fives and triples. | ||

I have a morbid fear of s**tting myself while lifting, so I always have the thoroughest possible dump after packing my gym bag, just before I leave. That said, the closest I've been was on the cross trainer, of all places, when a fart was almost over-dense. More than one of the Sugden bas***ds has been known to abandon a heavy squat or deadlift session midway through, to return after fairly urgent s**tting. Do big-time lifters have enemas before meets, I wonder? Mind you, the number of times Fat Pete shat at Rhino's, he was pretty safe. So maybe that's the method. | ||

Squats were good honest deep reps. The four was hard work but decided to attempt the fifth which bombed at the bottom. Ended up sitting on my arse in the power rack. Pretty sure five will fall next week. Bench was so close to being five, just couldn't lock it out. Again think I will get it next week. Overall good session. | ||

Not sure if that actually makes it a set of 4 or 3 with a tagged on single, but I count is as 4. Sholdes felt mighty strong. | ||

Got pain in the bottom of my right calf and a painfull lump in my groin. Fingers crossed neither will get any worse. The 240kg felt pretty dam heavy. Ideally need to be tripling this with ease if my dream of 6 plates is too fall. | ||
