conditioning: only needed for one event mate. You will be ok even with your base levels!

Deadlift is in the bag.

Whats the plan with overheads?

Conditioning - I will just keep hitting the sandbags every three or four days, that should do the trick, might not event the lift the bigger bags anyway so conditioning might not be a factor!

Deadlift - not in the bag by any stretch, but "should" hit 270+ depending on what the increments are.

Overhead ??? depends on training, would love to hit the bigger axle but its well over my current PB. Same for bigger d'bell, smaller one I should get 5+ reps - but really want the bigun! Calories will be upped as of today as my press strength tends to go up in direct correlation to my bodyweight.

ballsy targets on the overhead mate, like it!

i am gutted too that not strong enough to nail the big axle, would much rather just have one rep with that than rep the lighter one Grin

Good lifting on Sunday Ben. On the other comments, I agree that the hanging around all day needs to be sorted, but the entry fee is necessary to cover the cost of testing 10% of the lifters, cost of the venue, etc., etc. At least when it's in the UK you save the travel and hotel costs. I believe it's Moscow next year. You planning to defend your title champ?

Cheers Martin, I do appreciate the need for an entry fee that covers testing and costs but feel £50 is a bit steep and that some costs could be covered with sponsorship. I may sound selfish but if I pay that much entry fee I expect a trophy that says 1st place on it rather than the same one as everyone else! Its highly ulikely I will defend the title, I could barely afford the trip to Bradford never mind Moscow! lol

Still solid performance Ben, don't be too tough on yourself, have done a fair bit graft this year eh?

Who else was in your class? Tommy got 3rd?

I run a company who sort out Russian visas/travel if you decide to nail Moscow Happy

Cheers Brian, here are the full results:

The lad who came 2nd, Dave Aisworth, has a lot of potential. Looks like I was about 5th overall.

I'll say, a 270 pull at 19 (and 100kg before Carl gets in on the act Grin)is fantastic. Nice to see big Phil Laing won the 125 deadlift. Hopefully I'll be a bit closer to his total in November...
