The Hard Rock Cafe was amazing. Great music and food / thick shakes. I didn't. In Icelandic culture it is rumoured you absorb some of his power when you visit his grave to pay your respects. If I had hired a car I definitely would have done.

doesnt work hard enough in the gym Member 1492, 2138 posts SQ 170, BP 145, DL 195510.0 kgs @ 112kgs UnEq | I went there with the family 26-31st December - no gym at all for me, I loved it. The blue lagoon was amazing, saw a bit of the Northern lights - which were better on the plane on the way home. Did you see the geyser? The golden waterfall? Drove past Thors gym on a coach tour. Noticed lots of gyms everywhere - no wonder they breed monsters from a population of 300,000

Did you use the free face mud pack? I did! My skin was silky smooth afterwards!! We went on a whale watching trip when there. It was only when we were about 2-miles offshore that the mc onboard started saying that most of the whales will have migrated to warmer waters at this time of year!! (Between Xmas and new year). Still, because no whales were seen we could get a free trip any time in the next 2-years! Same with the northern lights because we didn't see them either. Come to think of it, we saw f**k all!!! Lol. Brilliant place though!

That was brilliant. I really wondered just how hot the water was. The waterfall was really good as well although the weather was terrible that day so a lot of people only got of the coach for 10-mins at the most. Sod that! I wanted to see the sights so got piss wet through and freezing cold instead! :/

I assume his raw total in a meet. Totally ahead of his time strength wise! It was a privilege to squat there. They laughed at me when I said 380kg raw was the British record though. 'In Iceland 380kg is normal f**king squat' was the response I got. Nonetheless they were incredibly supportive - they told me I will do 400kg in my next comp but I need to buy a new belt and wraps (apparently my wraps 'suck') to be sure.I am funny with various textures so avoided the mud masks. Spent most of my time in there by the bar consuming skyr smoothies. I don't drink these days as it causes big kidney pain and muscle cramp when I do. The Golden Circle tour - oh yes. Absolutely epic. I think the peaceful environment of Iceland is conducive to a better life in general, I noticed that out there me and the wife didn't bicker or argue at all whereas holidays are notoriously bad for us normally (imagine being with someone who gets crippling muscle cramp going 30mins without a drink and panics when there isn't enough food around - being a powerlifting WAG is a tough game) I suffer from permanent cough here in the UK and didn't cough out there at all. The air is very clean. I am also the first to dismiss stuff as snake-oil type quackery but I believe the blue lagoon did improve some of my injuries/niggles. It all but cured my on going rib/intercostal issue. The geothermal water - while it does indeed smell like weight gainer farts - also cleans you a lot better in my opinion. I also did the whale watching. Didn't see a damn thing but it was amazing seeing the Icelandic coastline from the Atlantic. I personally think the resuming of whaling has scared them off, evidently not enough as there was sadly Minke whale on offer in many restaurants. It's not a trade I could support in good faith. A lot of the things I talked about here are photographed on my fb and insta. Feel free to add me.
