I'm off to Iceland for 5 days Gonna train at some cool places and get plenty of pics/vids for sugden fans! Managed to blag this one to the wife by showing her pics of the Northern Lights. If we don't see them I'm gonna be in deep s**t... If anyone has an address for THOR'S POWER GYM please let me know! I might be attempting 800lbs raw squat out there on Thursday! Watch this thread and space...

I'll ask him where the gym is and see if he can get a few of his guys to go along.

Member 5929, 29 posts	I went to Jakabol, Magnus ver Magnusson's gym, when I was in Reykjavik a few years ago. It was a good gym, as you would expect, but sadly Magnus was away with Thor at a competition. It may be worth getting someone at your hotel to phone ahead as, unless it's changed since, it's a members only type place and they have keys. I was fortunate that someone was going in as I arrived, we got chatting and he let me come and train. It was a fairly non descript place with nothing outside to indicate what it is.

Some people may find some of it boring, in that case just skip to the training posts. So... the flight. I flew from Gatwick at 710am but the flight was delayed so I ended up airborne at maybe 745am. The sun rose gradually over the next 5 minutes... as it does. But, it never got any higher. And indeed after just over an hour of flying (we were well past the Scottish coast by this point), I watched it 'set' again. It remained dark and we arrived into an almost pitch-black Iceland at 1030am. The sun made a half-assed effort at rising before a state of what can only be described as twilight was reached which remained for all of 4 hours. It never got fully bright like it does in the UK. I imagine the sun would be lingering near the horizon all day - hopefully today will be less cloudy so I can observe what happens. This meant it was too cloudy to view the Northern Lights last night, too.

I'm in Reykjavik pretty much in the city centre.

Extortionate mate. Especially with how much I eat. 700 quid gave me 80000kr which I figured would last me 5 days. It is tough to find dinner for two for less than 10000kr. Thankfully the wife is tiny and doesn't eat much. I am going to find the market tomorrow- apparently it is very cheap for groceries etc.

Up to now I've got easyjet flights listed as £100 return, and an apartment for us all via airbnb @ around £300 each for a week. Not too pricey so far, but we have to live once we're there so it all hangs on that. You planning on a trip to the Blue Lagoon at all? Is transport ok?
