A good friend of mine was seen blatantly wearing a hat in the gym last night. I was taken aback. To be fair there was no black vest in sight.

Can we reach a Sugden concensus on the wearing (or not) of hats/headwear in the gym. I refer to any item that could be construed as such; beanies, caps, bandanas, etc.

My own view, for what its worth, is that you should NOT be seen dead in the gym wearing a hat, unless its your regimental beret. I say this as a hat wearer in my junior days who now regrets his actions.

Whilst I agree that the wearing of barnett attire for fashion purposes is very gay, I train at Adders. Adders has it's own ecology. The gym is 4 degrees colder than the car park and thats no joke this time of year. Turner wears a hat and he makes it look good.

I thought hats were compulsory if you are ginger, at all times, including in the gym. Normal people however, should not wear hats in the gym.

But seriously I don't see too much harm it, provided you in warehouse/unit type gym with only a thin metal wall separating you from the elements.

I see you point it someone is wrapped for artic expedition and is doing bicep curls in a squat rack in a "david lloyd" (do I get banned for mentioning such a place?)

I like training in my hat I look cool and hip, but also edge and "don't f**k with me".

Sometimes I shadowbox in front of the mirror, or slick my hair back while standing sidelong onto the mirror, so I get a quick gun pose mid-slick.

I don't, really.

I wear my hat because my hair is a mess most of the time and I look in the mirror and get depressed so my lifts automatically drop 30%.

Hmm, I wear a beanie usually, temperature in the Unit is about -5. I think without it I might die.

I'm not ginger.

Unfortunately I am ginger (although I have come to terms with my disability), but just shaved my head so looks like its beanies for me in the winter!

Its not the hats you have to worry about - its the gloves!

I wear a hat when training outside but have never worn one in the gym.

Im usually sweating like f**k when i train and am therefore usually hot so dont see why i would need to wear one indoors.
