huge history of karate , Ive been twice ever .Its something good to get the kids into though and its fun doing it with them.

losing weight and trying to lift heavy stuff is a f**king ballsache , had a s**te session today:

squat 100kx3 125kx2 135kx1 145kx1(nearly buried me)

deadlift 70kx5 100kx3 150kx1 180kx1 200kx1

I think i wont be logging training for a month or so , till I've got my weight where i want it as I'm constantly torn between strength training and wanting to get in shape and the two dont go together.

decided to start the journal again as i havent trained since i stopped posting. Not real strength training going on but I plan on getting back to it later in the year.

close grip bench 100k 3/3/3 pretty s**tty sets felt very heavy.
comp grip flat back no leg drive, 60kx2 70kx2 80kx2 90kx2 100kx1
flys 10kx15 supersetted with bench press 80kx5 60kx5
skull crushers 35k x10 /10/10
supersetted with close grip bench 60kx5/5/5
finished with a drop set of skullcrushers.

PUMPAGE!

tonight :

flat back bench no leg drive 100kx2 90kx5/5
close grip 80k 5/5/5
flys 10k x15 supersetted with bench press 60kx10
tricep extension 35kx10 supersetted with close grip bench 60kx10

body weight reached 12 stone 13 pounds on saturday morning which is the lightest i can remember being since i was in my early 20's , unfortunately I celebrated by being pissed for most of the weekend and I'm back up to 13 stone 5 now. i think being subbed 13 stone freaked me out a little.

squats on wednesday.

I feel like a skinny bloke now , i'm not sure at 6' 2" i want to be under 13 stone.Ive still got a bit of belly tubb but nothing like what i used to be , I'll get the mrs to take some photos this week and post them up , this site needs some semi naked double biceps poses.

squat 100k 5x5 1mins rest between sets.
5 sets of calf raises.

even with only 100k the lack of rest made that very tough.

Im now approaching the stage where im not bothered about being buffkin or big and muscular , im just gonna enjoy some rowing and kettlebells and the odd triathlon and whatever body that produces then that's middle age boar !!!

it simply isn't worth giving a f**k !!

having said that , I look awesome at the moment

even when you were a fatty you looked awesome!

without wanting to brag I'm probably in the best shape ive been in since my 20's , im also very weak which is a bit of a head f**k!
one benefit of being lighter is i.m a lot less tired at the end of the working day .

I'll definitely be back to the strength training though , i'd like to squat 200k bench 140k and deadlift 280k before i quit.

how long till your untimely death during the ironman?Grin

I just hope I die at the start and not after 14 hours of torture !!

its on aug 4th .... there is a live tracker on the ironman.com website, I'm number 1174

I am doing the British champs on Saturday on the waterfront in Liverpool , well I'm doing the same race , not really gonna break the top 200 , im just there for the medal .....

today , decided enough is enough and its time to start focussing on strength again its shocking how weak I have become.

deadlift 170k 4x4 200kx2 could have got 3 on the 200k set but im trying to stay away from grinders.
bent over row 70k x10/10/10/10/10
dumbell curls 22.5k 6/6/6

20 minutes of interval training. drowning in sweat by the end.

I think you can be fitter and strong edwardo , you don't have to be superfit or anything , just don't neglect the old heart n lungs ...... they are people too !!
