Yea I just can't understand all the hype about it. If you're not going to give life-time bans to drug cheats then you can't stop them from coming back after a ban.

Ditto Ola. He's just pissed off people by saying you carn't win in sprinting without gear. In fairnness he dosn't sound to far of the mark. He carn't compete in the Olympics, so its a bit of a mute point in many ways.

This is my MT post:

As far as I'm aware, you're still liable to out of competition testing for 12 months after you announce your retirement. And Chambers never even announced his retirement, he just exercised his right to participate in another sport. He could and should have been tested over the year he was out of athletics, and imo UK Athletics and UK Sport slipped up big time by not testing him during this period, and are now trying to rectify their error by demonising him.

I think there's a strong case for lifetime bans, but if there isn't a lifetime ban in force for a first offence (which there isn't) then he's perfectly entitled to compete. And he's certainly not depriving another medal chance of a place in the team by the looks of things.

I reckon if he could reach world elite status while being very regularly tested, it would be an excellent advert for how much you can achieve clean. Before he was caught he was actually getting so muscular that his times were deteriorating. He's 'floating' over the track far better now than when he was on THG.

Made the same comment to a bloke at work yesterday who still isnt speaking to me. I made the comparison of giving back a D&Wink driver his license after being banned from driving (knowing this guy had been done for D&Wink), and also said that I'd sooner have a beer with someone caught running on gear than one caught driving on ale, as a gear taker isnt as likely to mount the kerb and mow down my mam.

Anyway, I'm off before this kicks off and the death threats start.

Love you allGrin

Do anyone find it interesting that he is able to come back after a year out without competition or testing and still near enough match his pb when he was on the sauce.

that sums it all up for me. If you dont want athletes who have tested positive to compete on an equally footing after their ban period has lapsed, ban them for life

If you don't do this, you cant really moan about it IMO

On a side note, I feel Chambers was quicker before he went off to America and all the drugs malerky. His size was actually slowing him down in the end!!

He's served his ban, let the boy run. He is subject to the same testing procedures as everyone else so what is the issue.

The only man ever to break 9 seconds was Boris Becker in a broom cupboard.
