It's amazing what you can learn if you put your mind to it - they're not that hard. They ARE hard work though!

there is that but the main issue is just the cardio aspect from constant jumping and arm movement combined.

Good effort Terry!!

In regards to the box jumps, the idea is to pause at the top, instead of bottom, and use the stretch reflex of jumping down to go straight back up (if any of that makes sense?! Softens the impact as well)

I believe the "double under" is an old old wooden ship...

I really like this idea of crossfit strongman. I have said for years that you can make events much harder before you have to make them brutally heavier. I still think heavy events are fun to do, great to watch, and an awesome test of strength, but there comes a point where the events are just destroying bodies and really don't mean that much to the crowd anyways.

Couldn't agree more

We all love huge weights being destroyed, but I also want to see lungs busting and athletes that can really "go".

Plus I'm sick of a 10%+ bicep tear rate at big comps, its utter madness

Nothing wrong with tough medley or foot racws , but actual max events. Max deadlift or max log are both heavy events but don't cause injuries, not like silly heavy yokes or tires

Log for reps 90kg (75s)
Medley: 170kg yoke (Zercher carry) 30m/160kg prowler push 30m
Metcon: 4 minute AMRAP of 5 burpees, 10x 32kg KB snatch from the ground

There was a "crossfitter" category with very light weights (45kg log, 100kg yoke...) so that small and weak noobs like me could get their hands on implements for the first time.

Maybe....but I dont find watching ppl doing double unders/box jumps etc entertaining in anyway....and the majority of SM fans feel the same I'd imagine?

Couldn't agree more, that's the problem with crossfit its boring as f**k to watch! People doing the same exercise for 15-20 minutes is boring as hell, its like watching the marahton!
