Just 'cause you can run 40m with a 320 yoke, then do some double under, snatches and cleans etc, doesn't mean you're "healthy" Also, if attracts the same kind of prize money as crossfit, you'll find that a lot more people go down the "supplement" route (which isn't to say all the best crossfitters in the world aren't supplementing now...and that in itself is unhealthy) Good call! Yes you're right, there are plenty of crossfitters who I would say are "very unhealthy", but are still good athletes. I would say there are a good number of crossfitters who are "supplementing" to compete. I know there are some amazing things that can be done with the human body, but I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that it take a bit of help to get to the level of some of these guys. I would love to see that money come the strongman way though! Some goofy numbers for you here. I read that there were nearly 60,000 men that registered for the European regionals in the Crossfit Games. Each person paid the equivalent of $20. That's $1.2 million just from the men in Europe. There were nearly as many women and we still haven't counted Asia or the US which is a massive draw. The money coming in and going out of CFHQ must be staggering!

The money coming in and going out of CFHQ must be staggering! The money is good but not quite that good. Nearly 140,000 entrants worldwide in the Open, including only 7,500 men and 3,000 women in Europe. Those numbers include Masters up to age 60+. That's still almost 3M dollars raked in when you round up for team entries, etc. Still, it's a multimillion dollar machine for sure, and Glassman has made out extremely well since launching his little website 12 years ago.

If the meet is being run and being sponsored by crossfit or reebok? If so then it gets called crossfit. If not it cam be called whatever the orgs think is right.

Jenkins is involved in crossfit so I'm assuming they will be putting up the money.

My bad, those were the stats that were given to me by a coworker that does crossfit. Still though, those are awesome numbers!
