The best chain coffee I've had in a long long time was from Roast in Westfield. They make a f**king good cup of coffee but get lots of complaints for being slow....

Yep, same goes for popcorn. If you could open a shop that sells popcorn and coffee only you'd make a lot of money! Apparently to open a costa you need enough capital to open 5 stores, no less, at a cost of around £50k each. My local one is packed almost all the time, must be making a fortune.

Although I only drink from Nero and Costa and I think the difference between the two is slim to none, and as you say, they both burn the coffee so it makes very little difference. They both burn the milk too...

Sugdens very own David Dimbleby Member 1403, 3716 posts SQ 220, BP 115, DL 260595.0 kgs @ 97kgs UnEq | Was thinking about starting a thread to do with coffee The last time I bought coffee from a shop I had a latte from s**tbucks and it was literally coffee flavoured sugary milky water. That was months ago. I have nespresso machine which is excellent. Also a french press and a moka pot which produces the best coffee (the nespresso does the best espresso) but takes a little know how to get the best out of it. The best beans i've had recently are from Tesco! Columbian supremo something or other but it tastes great!. Tried stars**ts beans in the past and they weren't great.

He used to use Artisan beans but changed as they started blending wholesale (they now do a £6 a kg bag which is not great).

I will try these I just can't get on with Wellington, try as I might, every time I go I find the coffee is SO bitter I need to add 2 sugars to even it out, then it tastes awesome, but its not the way I like to drink coffee

403 forbidden message Member 160, 5121 posts SQ 190, BP 137.5, DL 225552.5 kgs @ 86kgs UnEq | Post Edited: 29.11.2012 @ 14:32 PM by Funky_monkey I find chains are for pretentious c**ts. The first time I went to one, I was with my older sister. I wanted a cup of tea. "Which tea would you like, Sir?" I just wanted a cup of normal tea - P.G Tips, Yorkshire Tea, didn't care. They had every poncy tea and coffee under the sun apart from a normal f**king cuppa. Coffee is also given stupid names. If I just want a normal coffee in a big mug with skimmed milk for exampled, I'd have to order a Tall Skinny Caffe Americano and pay £3, then have my nut done in by a bunch of screaming toddlers whose mothers let them run loose. The only things that have come up underlined in red are the poncy words "Caffe Americano" and not even "cuppa", which proves my point that we should have "A cuppa tea please love" or "A proper strong coffee with only a bit of water" instead of "doppio espresso, bella ragazza." Edit. My answer would be Costa double espresso with a tiny bit of water added simply because Costa coffee is MUCH stronger than Starbucks. Takeaway of course"

Scotbasher - forever Member 59, 2115 posts | I think my favorite is Costa, their tiffin cakes are good too. Starbucks seems to have a thin burnt taste to it. McDonalds isn't ba d as far as fast food coffees go.
