If I don't feel up for a heavy workout before I get to the gym, but still want to train, I might decide to do this in advance.
All this means I can still get some useful and structured work in, without having to go through the disappointment of failure, or end up having to abandon the workout altogether. Works best if you train intuitively, as I do, rather than trying to follow a set routine.

Thanks mate. 180 is moving fast and smoothly now. Particularly pleased that I could come back after a break and press it so easily. Just need to bust through to 187.5, then 190 and 200 will be well and truly in my sights.

Thanks. No, I've pulled 330 belt only. 320 is moving fast now and I can jump there straight from 270, which is handy. Just wanted my first few workouts after my little break to be heavy, but easy. Same for squats tomorrow, then I will start working towards some PBs in the last part of the year.
