The plain hamburgers are exactly that - no gherkins, relish or any of that nonsense and they are only about ninety pence each. I placed my order of four plain hams and large fries (in case there was a Jack Revans spy lurking) and was told that I could not have it as they were still on the breakfast menu. "When do you switch menus ?" I asked "Ten thirty" said he I glanced at my watch, it was 10:27 "This has shades of the movie "Falling Down" I told him He looked at me blankly - no point flogging a dead horse "Can I order the hams at 10:30?" I asked "You can" he replied "But not before" I queried "No" he comfirmed "I actually applaud the fact that you have a cut off, and I have no qualms that you enforce it with rigid inflexibility, what I do have an issue with is the fact that you have kept this a secret from me for all the dozens of previous visits I have made to this place" He stared blankly once again. I left | ||

On another table was what I assumed to be a father and his two daughters celebrating their exam results, when their breakfasts arrived, the father picked up his knife and fork and commenced eating, the daughters picked up their phones, took a photograph and then spent a minute or two typing - and then they ate. If this were the seventh course of an exotic and expensive tasting menu at Heston Blumenthal's Fat Duck in Bray I could maybe understand it, but a greasy spoon in Tyldesley's high street !!!! Has it really come to this ? | ||

My request for carrot sticks seemed to flummox them and caused a delay because they had to go out the back to hunt for a bag. Not a popular choice I imagine. | ||

I bet they spent less time and effort, and certainly fewer words, disseminating the story of their breakfasts that morning than you have of yours here, too, so I think it's fair to say that it has come to exactly this  .In fairness to McDonald's, the 10:30 thing is mentioned widely on menus etc and has also been the case nationwide for at least 20 years. There are NO PHONES ALLOWED IN THE PRISON. | ||

I can always depend on you for an alternate view to my own. However I would say that there is a fine distinction. I only do it when there is something unusual about it, not as a matter of course. Much the same can be said for your pots of tea posts which I have seen. You don't post every ordinary cup of tea or coffee, just as I very frequently eat a breakfast that I never mention | ||
