Well done on the strict PB mate that is a phenomenal weight!

The table looks cool as f**k! Arm wrestling is a lot of fun, had the privilege of arm wrestling a former world champion before.. Its safe to say I lost miserably Tongue

Very interesting article, I like reading about the history of strength sports and had never heard of him before.

ALWEBB72 said:i would say cut the reps down on the way to your weight which i take it is 200kg??

so maybe 100kg warm ups then 140kg x 2 180kg x 2 then 200kg for reps??

I've been doing 531 and this week I was supposed to do 175kg x 3, 185kg x 3 and finish with 200kg for at least 3 but go till failure. I'm still undecided with 531 to be honest.

Today was what you could call deadlifts!! To be honest it was such a poor session I was debating not writing it down but thought I would be only cheating myself and some sort of session is better than none. As my gym has only one olympic bar and there were people already deadlifting I decided to do some assistance work first. It went as follows:

Low Row -

100kg x 8
120kg x 8
135 kg x 5

Lat Pulldown -

80kg x 8
100kg x 5
100kg x 5

Dumbbell Row -

30kg x 10
35kg x 8

Deadlifts -

100kg x 10
140kg x 5
175kg x 3
185kg x 3
200kg x 3 tried for 4 but form was s**t and decided not to risk it.

Speed Deadlifts -

140kg x 3 x 5 with 60 seconds rest

Well my deadlift seems to be going back wards even the 175kg seemed hard today and was hoping for at least 5 reps on 200kg but was lucky to get the 3! I'm hoping for a better session next week as my deadlift seems to be stalling. Any ideas to get it going again would be appreciated.

Strong stuff!

Yes I would say I am, I definitely owe most of my PBs to them and all my knowledge of events.

Joined ALWEBB72 and Wayne_Cowdrey at Extreme Muscle gym. As always it was an enjoyable and some what eventful session that involved cleans, strict and push press, seated machine press, squat and dumbbell press.

Clean and Press: the story of good and bad-

each weight was cleaned once and pressed for these reps-

70kg x 5
80kg x 4
90kg x 1 (a new clean PB)
100kg x 1 (a new belt clean PB)
110kg belt clean which was another new PB (that is the good bit) then an attempted press which involved me fighting to lock it, losing my balance and footing then dropping the bar and subsequently bending the bar = one unhappy gym owner and me with said bent bar in my car praying I can get it straightened.

Seated Machine shoulder Press:

neutral grip - whole stack (I think about 90kg) x 6
Side/bar like grip x 5
neutral x 3 side x 1

Squat -

70kg x 2
110kg x 1
150kg x 1
180kg x 1 New PB!!

Overhead press -
35 kg x 1 both hands
50kg x 1 right hand
50kg x 1 right hand

50kg Dumbbell for reps (60 secs)

Al - 7
Wayne - 8
Me - 6

Was happy with my performance overall (minus the bar bending bit lol) was happy with my PBs and its always a pleasure to train with AL and Wayne. Squat wasn't quite the 200kg I wanted but don't think its a long way off, video of my squat PB will be up soon.
