Supposed to be a day off but thought I'd do the same mini workout I did last night without the rings on pulls and chins.

youngy said:just a question on your opinion on deloads...

I know you have followed 5/3/1 as its set out, and have done really well off it but I'm just wondering if you think the deposed weeks are REALLY needed, so far I've ran it a good few times and haven't ever deloaded. maybe after running 3 cycles together ie. 9 weeks because of no deloads I would do something different for a week then start again.

Love dogs. Some really good pics in this thread of some awesome dogs. Here's a pic of our boxer called Barney

I'm in two minds about it myself to be honest. I know Wendler says 5/3/1 is for long term improvements so I can see why it's probably a good idea to deload as set out and think about the bigger picture. But there are times when I feel the deload could be getting in the way of progress I could be making when I'm feeling good. I'm deloading right now but I needed this one as I've just felt a bit unmotivated and deloading usually helps as I'm raring to go after a few easy sessions. You seem to be making really good progress without deloading, so maybe just wait until you feel you need to deload.

Another extra workout to cure boredom. I'm gonna feel all the GHR's I've done today in morning.

I'm going to start really hammering the GHR machine over the next month after this deload, as I really don't use it enough. I'll try and include it in any extra workouts I do too.

Aye. I have a few different bars that other gyms in Hull don't have, like the swiss bar and safety squat bar. Most don't have a GHR either which is pretty essential for me. I might see you in Vulcan at the next comp they do.

I train at home, got a decent set up in my garage. I went to that strongman contest they did at Vulcan when it opened, not been back yet as it's hard to go train somewhere when you have everything at home.

This is my gym in the video below. Well it's actually moved to my garage from my brothers now and has a lifting platfrom that you can see in my journal.

I replied in your form check thread as I didn't realise you had a journal. I'm from Hull too, I'd noticed you are from your video as I realised it was at Vulcan.

Funny thing is I just realised your training at Vulcan in Hull. I'm in Hull too, I did a comp thing at Vulcan a while ago and I gave Steve a few bits and bobs like a keg and some rope.

The only thing I noticed on the front squats is the weight is coming off your heels, mainly on your left side. Might help to not wear trainers with a cushioned heel.
