» Best place to learn the olympic lifts (Go to post)03-07-2011 @ 17:26
Can anyone recommend me a place to go get some help learning the olympic lifts. I thought about trying to learn them myself with the help of videos, but considering how much I improved just from a days training with Martin Brown I think I'll be better off learning them from some with experience rather than picking up lots of bad habbits doing them my own way.

I'm from Hull but happy to travel to train with the best.

After reading through your whole log I have to say your an inspiration to me. I'll never get down about the little injuries I pick up again after reading what you've gone through.

I checked the link I put earlier in this thread and there is a stream going to be shown on there tonight, I use that site to watch a lot of football and boxing and it's usually really good.

Not sure it's arrogance. He has to play mind games when he's fighting someone with so many physical advantages over him. He is a very confident fighter, and so he should be with what he's achieved already in his career. He should get a lot of credit for bringing some interest back into heavyweight boxing, when was the last time any of you cared about watching a heavyweight fight, was a long time ago for me until this one was announced.

They will no doubt have it on there tonight.

Yeah I struggle to get in that position, been watching a video of how to increase flexibility to be able to do it better, so I'll work on that. You were right about feeling weak on this forum, there are some right beasts. I might move my training log from myprotein to here cos not many of the strength athletes post there now, only martin and james really, and you don't get much constructive help like you seem to on here.

What grip do you use for front squats Pete? I'm terrible in the rack position, it just feels wrong.

Cheers. I'm lucky that I'm only 5ft 8" to be honest as other wise I'd not be able to overhead press with 20kg plates or bumper plates on.

Check ebay. I got 60m of 2" manilla rope off ebay for about £70 a while back, the guy had bought it to do his decking and then changed his mind.

I've made an order too, 3 tubs of WPC Precision 2.5kg. I didn't see any mention of the free case of Promax RTD's during the order process.

It was rather thick when I did it, so I just added a little water to get it how I wanted it.
» Weightlifting Shoes (Go to post)27-06-2011 @ 20:25
Has anyone got The Adidas Perfect Power II? I'm after some lifting shoes and can't seem to find much info about these, most people seem to talk about the Ironworks 2 and 3. I might even splash out on the Adidas Adistar if they are worth the extra, but I can't find much about them from people who have bought them.

I really don't understand why these get passed.

I tried it with chocolate protein powder last night and it was awesome, it will be in my diet every day now, thanks for the suggestion.

I've been using it for a quite a while and have made decent pogress, as have all of my friends that train with me, and I would of probably made even more gains if I didn't pick up so many injuries during rugby season. It's a good program if you follow it exactly as it's set out in the book, a lot of people I see saying it didn't work for them usually ignored starting with the 90% training max.
