hey all,

JohnOvManc just saying hello
Some ppl here have met me before at other forum meets or gyms round about manchester... helo to everyone who was at Sugdens Strongest... I was stood with boar/fat pete

everyone else, I've got no respectable achievements so I'm just your everyday garden BBer type trainer but have always had an interest in power/strongman stuff, I don't have what it takes to compete but I would like to increase my lifts a bit... to be perfectly honest I want to focus massivly on the deadlift.

OK... where I need help
DEADLIFTS, really doing my head in at the moment.
Didn't train deads until late last year, progress was fairly swift, 180kg was my best 1RM but I hadn't tried for singles that was my 1st go.

In Oct I torn my hamstring and had a lot of time off opening a shop in clayton (Manchester)... been back at he gym, trainings going well in all other areas but deadlifts it getting to me, I've got a huge urge to get to 200kg. But even tho 180kg went up easy enough before the ham tear so weeks I can not get it off the ground and it leaves me mentally feeling deflated.

Got some advice on other forums... reduce reps, increasing singles but still faling short.
Should I forget the single 1rm for a couple of weeks and start repping again?
If so... what should I rep for my worksets?

thanks in adviance

That was not Kens point!

His point was that your advice (although probably said in jest) was pretty pointless.

mate, please dont try and cause arguements all the time

why do you feel the need to try and belittle jom's achievement by blowing your own trumpet?

So you serious advice to someone to improve their deadlift is to take up an occupation they may have no interest in, and completely infesable thing to do, and do that for a few years then re-test their deadlift? Tongue
