sprange67 | Training and DOMs | 26-04-2013 @ 14:44
Member 1858, 170 posts SQ 285, BP 157.5, DL 302.5745.0 kgs @ 98.9kgs UnEq | Just wondering, I train, then 2 days later I get the DOMs, like at the moment my legs are hurting like crazy. So does this mean my muscles have been damaged and are repairing and If I eat well, sleep well that they will repair stronger or will they just maintain where they were. Basically I’m asking the worst the DOMs the better/stronger the muscles will be, or am I over simplifying things. Also if you plateau do you get less DOMs?

This could include: Adding load to an existing exercise pattern Increasing frequency of an existing exercise pattern Performing an unfamiliar movement Working past MMF etc etc etc

So from what you say am I over loading the weight and should go lighter (I only do 5 x 5, so I can really cut that down, well much)?

No no, overloading is a principle of progression when used correctly. As long as you're maintaining good technique keep adding weight and squatting. After all you're looking to stimulate adaptation. Keep going kidder.

Sounds good to me, just grin and bear the DOMs and keep loading up :-) Cheers me babber
