» Strength decline with age? (Go to post)17-12-2020 @ 09:23
Currently 53 and still improving but I didnt start training until I was in my 40's, so whether that has any bearing on it. The only down side, so far, is injuries take longer to heal

» Non Alcoholic fatty liver disease (Go to post)22-01-2020 @ 12:57
I had it, this was predominately due to catching Epstein-Barr virus (a common virus that causes glandular fever). Made me feel s**te for a long time, best part of 2 years. All I did was watch what I was eating and cut right down on the beers. Basically last year I did Veganuary and Dry January together. That sorted my liver out
» Powerlifting shoes or boots, any recommendations or what I should consider (Go to post)21-02-2019 @ 12:51
I think it would come down to personal preference. I was not sure what would or not work so brought a second hand pair of Adipower's off of ebay (as new for £50). Use them all the time but better than some converse, not sure....
» Axle Grip (Go to post)18-02-2019 @ 12:50
Same grip for both hands, over grip if that makes sense. It was my first time using an axle and could not get 150kg off the floor, I expected to be a doddle. Lowered to 120kg and that was a piece of piss. 150 just rolls out of my grip, so i need to improve my grip

Tried a deadlift for the first time with an axle bar and was not the result I expected, didn't move, so yes too heavy to start with... So, and tips for gripping it

Hi All

Has anyone here popped their inguinal ligament, if so what treatment did you have to have?
» Ancestry tests (Go to post)12-02-2018 @ 13:21
I would but I don't trust that my deals wont at some point get sold on to insurance companies etc..
» Impossible to build muscle after 35 or harder? (Go to post)06-09-2017 @ 11:56
Crock, did not start training until I was 42 and am an office worker, and I've just had my best total in a comp @ 50 and expect to do a lot better, without chemical assistance!
» would you rather... (Go to post)31-07-2017 @ 16:13
Would you rather sleep with a mermaid with a woman’s top half and fishes bottom half, or woman’s bottom half and a fish’s top?
» Drug free and disillusionment (Go to post)21-06-2017 @ 11:19
The original question was about disillusionment and it’s quite easy to see as to how this was arrived at following the thread. The fact that I don’t care whether you’re on or off, is neither here or there and I really don’t care as long as I compete on a level playing field. The slagging off some people have had on here, people I’ve lifted against, sod it beer and darts it is and I’m way too old for thisHappy
