beefacke | Using chalk? Liquid or the normal stuff | 21-02-2012 @ 11:14
Member 530, 11 posts SQ 170, BP 152.5, DL 240562.5 kgs @ 92kgs UnEq | Pro's and cons' on which one to use would be helpful, even though the gym i use isn't at all happy about us using the powder stuff, they do let us. Just thought we'd be considerate if we were to use the liquid stuff (is there much difference, before i buy some). Cheers Lads.

as crimson as my last victims underclothing..... Member 899, 11330 posts SQ 180, BP 132.5, DL 190502.5 kgs @ 118kgs UnEq | Post Edited: 21.02.2012 @ 11:20 AM by Wiegieboard I don't use chalk whilst lifting as even my heaviest rack pulls ever were only 240kg but I've used normal and liquid chalk on the climbing wall. I found liquid chalk to be much tidier but I think that normal chalk gives me better grip.Liquid chalk aint bad at all though. I imagine it'd be fine with a well knurled bar.

technical retard Member 172, 36827 posts SQ 310, BP 205, DL 335850.0 kgs @ 108kgs UnEq | Liquid chalk is by far the best, but qworks out expensive also needs to be applied 2-3 mins before event to have time to dry

lets get learning !!! Member 1598, 723 posts SQ 210, BP 130, DL 200540.0 kgs @ 83kgs UnEq | Liquid chalk can ruin bars. Ive been the one trying to use an iron brush on it and it would'nt come out of the knurling. 4 of the uni bars got ruined when we started to sell it. Its now banned. Nothing wrong with normal chalk

Member 3353, 169 posts SQ 200, BP 120, DL 230550.0 kgs @ 83kgs UnEq | I always found liquid chalk "stickier" but I dont think it will make that much of a difference. Liquid chalk is cheap and causes less mess (unless you drop it on the floor) I spent £8 on some from my protein and it lasted me over a year.

Dan is old fashioned. Member 27, 2028 posts SQ 240, BP 170, DL 255665.0 kgs @ 102kgs UnEq | I bought some normal chalk from an online climbing shop some years ago. They had a £30 minimum order to qualify for free delivery. You get so much chalk for £30 that I'm still using it now and have several years worth left!!!!

I keep it in a small Tupperware box and rub it on my hands. Strengthshop sell it cheap and they last ages. I paid £1 from go outdoors for a block and it's lasted awhile.

I work as a boner Member 3115, 490 posts SQ 240, BP 140, DL 300680.0 kgs @ 132kgs Eq | I've got both, i find the liquid stays on you're hands a whole lot longer and you don't have to keep applying it before lifts like you do the other chalk. Plus its not that expensive now, i just buy a bottle when i need it from myprotein.com.

Member 3241, 2043 posts SQ 1, BP 192, DL 255448.0 kgs @ 136kgs UnEq | Block chalk for me; dont like the liquid stuff due to the damage caused and also the time you need to hang around for it to dry... Plus the cloud of magnesium carbonate in the air when you're walking to the lift always makes for an impressive photo haha

Member 1262, 347 posts SQ 180, BP 95, DL 213488.0 kgs @ 77kgs UnEq | i also much prefer regular chalk with the liquid stuff, if you get it into an open cut or blister then it f**king kills! also find i have to reapply it a lot more
