Yeah f**k it, it's just for a bit of fun/to track personal progress.

If you're really interested in proving your numbers that's why we have competitions... and youtube. Tongue

This argument has raged on and one since weightlifting began LOL
My personal opinion is that anything which adds support is "equipment", so this would include belts, straps, wraps and weightlifting shoes.
However most people seem to accept belt and knee wraps as "unequipped", which confuses me as anyone will tell you, you can lift more with a belt on than without.
Personally I always lift RAW, I don't even own a belt, just shorts and a vest.

Ah ha - the first to use upper case letters in the word Raw to give it the correct emphasis. Happy

rodger that deadlift should count as more due to the extra weight of suit!

also do people find wrist wraps help at all? do people lift more in them? i can't seem to like them but maybe that just because im not used to them

Robocop = raw as he has the appropriate therapeutic use excemption

Terminator cyberdyne systems model 101 = uneqquiped as he is a metal exoskeleton under human skin

Ironman = fully equipped

Mr bean = the future = garlic bread

Nope,

some feds allow knee wraps as raw...ie GPC/BPC

GBPF/BDFPA unequipped no knee wraps...SIMPLES as the meerkat on tv says....

Hi Mike, how are you keeping?

I guess that you can see from the above posts that it really varies from sport to sport and fed to fed.

I can only advise from a GBPF perspective which allows belts, wrist wraps and certain neoprene knee sleeves in un-equipped competition as defined by the IPF here:

Hi ian

i had a feeling that would be the case,

i just wanted to know if i was using the powerlifting chart right,

to be safe i have listed my 'no wraps' squat and my 'no straps' deadlift,

not that i really get anything out of them anyway, until i start doing mid to high reps.

i do keep meaning to come over and train with you guys but all of my kit is at betterbodies and more importantly none of you fall for my excuses when i'm having a bad lifting day.

Unequipped is a powerlifting term to donate meets were powerlifting specific equipment is not used..hence unequipped. In reality it means nothing else to anyone else's lifting.

As this argument shows the grey area is what goes on the knees Happy Me I'd prefer no knee wraps as I feel they are as much about performance as protection. Knee sleeves does seem fair enough. However I am not uber against knee wraps being used if feds want to do that. I'd happily lift under these rules. But calling this 'raw', sorry 'Raw' dose sound silly too me.
