Cheers.

I suck plums at squatting, but I was happy that the old deadlift didn't fall off the face of the earth over the last month, having not trained it properly due to injury. Just shows what squatting can do to keep the rest of your numbers up.

I have taken to squatting to the world's lowest box (about 4" below parallel as touch and go, not as a box squat per se), hence the tiny numbers.

That and the fact I am skinny weakling who sucks at squatting.

Super pulling mate. Good luck when the PB attempt happens!

It's interesting how your squat is lagging behind (mine does too). My squat has come on well recently, I think, by squatting 3 times a week. 2 back squat session and 1 front squat.

I can't believe anybody can squat more than they can pull. Weirdos Happy

Yeah, anyone who squats more than they deadlift (raw) is a stubby legged, tyrannosaur armed freak of nature who is not to be trusted. Confused

do you have exceptionally long arms mate? i was just wondering how your deadlift could be so high compared to your squat

The pendlay back extensions sound mean as f**k! If I had some way to them, I'd like to give them a go sometime. Hope the leg heals up soon!

I actually do the pendlay back extensions over a preacher curl pad as it allows you to lean right over (because the pad wraps over the top) and cuts the input from you glutes and hamstrings right out.

As to my squat and deadlift difference, part of it is down to the fact that I am 6’ 7”. My arms aren’t that long. It’s odd as I am really skinny width ways, but quite thick front to back. Part is down to the fact that I am a skinny 98kg. Most is down to the fact that I have unfeasibly long femurs, which means that I have to drop half-a-mile to depth. Coupled with having weak legs, if I am honest. I am actually pretty good at Box squats, but suck at normal squats. I think as I train on my own in a squat rack (not a cage) that this inhibits me a little as feeling like you are getting folded over like a tin can by a heavy bar with no one to save you can make you ere on the side of caution.

For the reasons above, I will probably change my gym in September to one with a cage.

fair enough, cages are great, i couldn't squat off a rack without a spotter myself
