Decided not to go for 270kgs today after the 240kgs felt slower than normal. Didnt feel it at the time but also tore off a pretty big chunk of skin on the first 240kgs. Did a second rep at 240kgs and although it was a better rep thought id best leave it at that. Didnt want to totally waste the session so went upstairs and did some upper back stuff afterwards to finish.

Cheers guys. Was really wanting to go for it but thought it was a better idea to be confident about it next time and save my energy today.

The way my liftings been going lately i cant really complain in having the odd off day. Contemplating going for 200kgs on friday if im feeling good to make up for things Grin

Good session tonight and ended up doing quite a lot of volume. Benching with the max width grip makes my range of motion feel tiny and think i could possibly get a new PB with this if i have a bit more practice. Left upper back stuff tonight to do tommorow after squats.

Cheers buddy. Ive been tidying up my diet a little of late so no meat platter last night haha

Woke up this morning quite late and only had some pineapple juice and a few digestives before i went to te gym. Decided id see how i felt about going for a new PB.

Called it a day after this as i felt knackered. Probably due to me not eating enough before the gym so left the upper back stuff. Gives the torn callus on my hand a bit more time to heal aswell. The squat didnt feel as hard as the 190kgs i did just after christmas so think there might be a little more there soon.

Cheers guys Happy Think it it was in but just didnt want to claim it if it wasnt. Didnt feel like it was quite a max so think there may be a bit more there but wont maybe wont try anything over 200kgs before my next comp in march. Really enjoying squats these days whereas i used to dread them.

Went into the gym to do some conditioning work with chris today.

30kgs - Barbell Complexes

6 sets of:
6 x Stiff Leg Deadlifts
6 x Cleans
6 x Snatches
6 x Overhead presses
6 x Front Squats

16kg Kettlebell Complex

1 set of:
Swing x 30s
Rest : 30s
KB Squat x 30s, Swing x 30s
Rest : 30s
Slingshot x 30s, KB Squat x 30s, Swing x 30
Rest : 30s
Assisted Pullup x 30s, Slingshot x 30s, KB Squat x 30s, Swing x 30s
Rest : 30s
Pushups x 30s, Assisted Pullups x 30s, Slingshot x 30s, KB Squat x 30s, Swing x 30s

Really good session today. The complexes werent too hard but definately go the lungs going. The rest was about as long as it took to do the sets cos we just rested while the other person did the complex. After the 6 sets of these we did the complex i had been doing with the 20kg kettlebell but felt just about as hard after doing all of the stuff before.
