Quads, yeah, not hamstrings. I find it hard to hit my hamstrings, glutes, hip adductors and shoulders with a foam roller because of the size and difficulty in getting enough pressure on the roller. Tennis ball helps more for those areas.

I think Thing, like myself, probably has enough bodyweight to really hit the hams with it.

So why do I want loose ITB bands?

They help relieve DOMS eh? now that is something I could do with.

tennis ball and Baseball are reall good for lower back, hamstrings hips, shoulders and the lats.

but when i have use my foam roller of the ham strings i have used a bench to sit on the thing and then move back and forth.

the other thing that i have see used (by Clint Darden) was a keg for the sides and upper back.

Hi mate. I got mine from Body Power expo last year, £20 ish dont use it religiously but it helps with my constant knotted up middle and upper back, and back of shoulder. Also I use a medicine ball at gym sometimes it gets in between better.

Cheers

Another vote for this. My first experience was even worse - psychopath not just sweeping IT band with forearm, but then attacking trigger points with elbow. Indescribable. Foam rolling is a walk in the park in comparison... Mind you, even a diminutive masseuse will generally inflict more pain than self-administered foam or stick rolling, at least in my experience. Just wish that I could afford to see a massage therapist more often.

If you forego the 'Happy Ending' it works out quite a bit cheaper Grin

I swear by them. Got me back training when I was a injured mess.

Rolled triceps which really helps the tendonitis.

Roll upper back and lower back which is full of knots and tension. My horrific back pain f**ked off once I started using it on lower back.

Use it on quads and IT bands (agony) and my knees hardly get sore anymore.

Use it on my lats (again agony) and it really loosens my tight shoulders off

Use it on my hamstrings which really get rid of the soreness and tightness.

One of the best purchases I ever made

Try active release therapy when the push the thumb or elbow on to the trigger point or end of the muscle. Where they then tell you to move a arm or leg where it's effecting through a range of motion whilst they push there thumb/elbow along the effecting muscle group

That hurts like f**k.

Foam roller stuff is easy

I'd love to, but the ART official site doesn't record any registered practitioners anywhere naer me. Correction: I've just checked, and there's now smoebody ni Sheffield. Still too far, really...

BTW: did ART help you?

I prefer to use a hockey ball atm. PVC pipe is very good too. If you get a roller get a real decent one. This generally means not a foam one. Alot of the cheap foam ones aint too great.
