I don't fly fixed wing, just rotorcraft so only Helis or Gyroplanes, although never flew in the latter.
I have about 7 hours in a crappy cesna some years back and I will learn eventually, bloody expensive though so I need to earn some money and pay off some loans before I think about that.

Sounds like a great job, Matt. But don't you just know that some bored administrator is going to put some reference to choppers into your avatar now?Grin

Cool training and cool job! I have been in an army helicopter once. The pilot gave it a bit of stick, it was awesome!!

Martin, I'm sure they will now lol.

I started from flying in an army heli or two, first a chinook then a gazelle.
It is enjoyable but to be honest much the same as any other job, I'll just get to travel a bit more each day and know the country layout a little better.

I am chuffed however as the company has got a large chunk of the olympic contract so I will be flying down there then, never gonna compete in it so be nice to be part of it somehow.

Deadlifts 20th Dec

Had a right bas***d of a workout tonight, fast and furious, I think Lee was in a hurry lol

Deads from floor

We switched between sets for the other person to lift, then straight back on the weights, so no rest at all really

220 x 2 x 10 sets
180 x 2 x 5 sets

All of these were mega fast (or as fast as possible as a couple were grinders when we got tired, by we I mean me!). These took 14mins in total for 15 sets each to give you an idea of the speed work.

Atlantis Row

80kg a side, done exactly the same as the deads

80 x 3 x 8

Dumbbell Row

70kg x 5
75kg x 5
80kg x 5 – Not so easy, went up but last couple were bas***ds

Dumbbell Shrug
100kgs x 10 x 3 – The hardest part was the deadlift to get them up after 15 sets of deads

Had the most horrible lower back pump I have had in a while, but all good.

Grin Grin

Its an Atlatis row machine as opposed to a hammer row

Lee has battered me and I have never been stronger, nothing better than training with someone with experience, and 18 years of it a 9 world and 12 European titles is experience in my book lol.
He does drive me on well and has helped sorting out my deadlift form which is now near sport on just needs consistency, my bench was actually ok as he taught me to bench over 7 years ago in another gym, but I didn't know who he was then, and my squat, well still needs work I am currently working on wider and wider stances to shift more weight. Its all good!

27th Bench & Deads

Usual story, too much crap, too much beer (please note, beer does not fall under ‘crap’, it is a heavenly gift and should be treated as holy, holy delicious that is!) and not enough sleep. I was not looking forward to this one!

Raw Bench
100 x 10
140 x 5 x 4 sets
140 x 2 - Was so tired lol

Close Grip Bench
100 x 10
120 x 8 x 2

Deadlift
220 x 3 x 5

Close grip V-Bar Pulldowns
Stack (approx 130kg ish) x 10 x 3 sets

Be glad to be back into routine again, next comp build up starts on the 27th Jan, gonna be working a lot on flexibility until then to improve my squat and increase the arch in my bench.
