thanks guys Happy Back from a weekend in London with family - so lots of rest and food!

yeah wide-grip bench is good - it was about time I started getting PBs!!!

squatting is feeling stronger though still frustratingly weak compared to the rest I feel. It is the lift I have the most potential for increasing over the next few months I think. My back has strengthened a lot but my legs still dont fire very well.

Yes I am competing at the British unequipped.

Progress looks good. You should be able to make the British senior finals next year - as long as you take it easy and don't get hurt. Longevity is the key to success, and it requires very intelligent training to achieve it.

wow would be awesome to make seniors next year. Training for this comp is a bit mad but after the comp I am going to go onto a few long and slow cycles which will be gentler on me but progressive.

the next goal has to be BW bench by Xmas really Grin

Training is has been mental though the numbers and progress are good - but I am worried of strains, injury and fatigue in this final few weeks up to the comp so the plan for the remaining pre-comp workouts is: rest until Unit 20 this Friday and do some squatting and benching. Strongwoman on Sunday but relatively low-key compared to my usual madness. Tuesday Squats and bench; Thursday Bench, Friday DLs and Bench - but reduce or eliminate all accessory exercises and ease off considerable at the tail-end of the week. Then Monday of the last week before the comp I will do opening attempt for each lift with competitions commands and then rest and eat! Thursday before the comp I will do one of those neuro pathways workout thingies with really light weights singles (like 40k SQ, 20k BP, 60k DL).

1x90k PB easy but wasnt sure of the depth
1x90k a bit harder and stilll not confident but Buzz said both were fine...
2,2,2x82.5k back was strong but was slightly less deep than normal but i think still hitting depth

didnt feel like a hard workout but was good and leaves lots of energy for Sunday strongwoman

Outstanding. You've normally got plenty of depth to spare iirc so "felt a bit shallow" probably means they were bang on.

~6m x 190k with 2 drops but pickup felt a lot less difficult or painful than 190k last unit 20 session PB

Farmers walk
15m x 70k with 1 turn - felt ok but wish i could have made 20k PB
5m x 80k felt good for pickup but walking was tough! PB

80k atlas stone
3 failed attempts but starting to lose respect for it and felt like i made some real progress - was getting it off my hips and up my body a bit - just not quite strong enough to carry it high enough.


all in all an awesome session -pretty shattered now!!!

Very nice pd squat, I've been reading your training log, you are doing some very strong training, well done. If your are competeting at the british unequipped on the 1st Sept 07 - good luck.
