Machine Row

Concentration Curl
14x 8, 6, 5 (v. short rests)

24kg kettlebell:
1 arm swing - 10 right /10 left x 2
1 arm snatch - 5 right / 5 left

Always a bit of a struggle when you're away for work to get some decent training in, but this was pretty decent considering. Squats were pretty hard and I took long rests but they were always going to go. Bench not bad. I was expecting to be hard pressed to find a decent gym in Guernsey but it was actually really good - and they even had two 24kg kettlebells. Given the type of gym and the type of clientele on evidence, I doubt they get used much, but it was great to find them there when I'd just been considering getting one. Found it actually fairly easy weight-wise, but murder in terms of CV. Conclusion is I'll probably get a 32er rather than 24.

Still away for work - got up at 5:30 am for 7am flight from Guernsey to Gatwick, 2 trains to Teddington for a 10am meeting then back to central London for gym.

150x10 was what I was scheduled to do, so 150x10 I had to do. This equals my PB10 on these, so I was pretty pleased to get it, being pretty tired and not having eaten particularly well over the last couple of days.

Supposed to be 165x2x3 but my back felt tight to I left it at that. Had I spend another 10-20 minutes warming up it might have been better. Think the travelling has finally caught up with me.

Bench Press

DB OH Press
35sx 5, 3, 5

f**ked up the groove on the third set.

Pull-up

Back (particularly left side) is feeling s**t today. Got some ibuprofen down and put some deep heat on it too. Ideally need to recover for tomorrow's deadlift session...

Yeah, it sucks. Kind of ironic that it should happen just now as well actually, as I was out on Friday evening and this girl who was talking to my friend suddenly started saying you could see I worked out because I had such good posture (cos she was a yoga teacher apparently and thought herself something of an authority on these things).

Fcuk s**t bo***cks fcuk. Back still fcuking hurts. Sometimes sorts itself out in the gym so I thought I'd go with the plan and see what happens.

OH Press
50x4, 60x3, 72.5x2x3

Deadlift off mats (4 mats - usually 3 I think. Very high platform anyway.)
60x3, 110x3, 150x2, 180x2, 200x2, 220x 2, 1

Infuriatingly, this was all easy and painless up to a fast double at 200. At 220 I had to stop locking them out because it was going to hurt my back. Arsed up the groove a bit on the second rep of the second set and left it there. Started off promisingly but I was quite pissed off in the end. Plan was for 235x1 (5kg PB) next week, which without injury would definitely have gone up.

DB Bench Press
30sx6, 47.5sx 7 , 7, 6

Damn, ran out of breath trying desperately to lock out the 7th rep on the last set. Still, if I wasn't in such a fcuking bad mood I'd be pleased with this.

SLDL off block
70x10, 110x10x2

155x10 is definitely not going to happen on Friday. But it fcuking would have were it not for the injury. Things are going wrong at a very bad time. Going to see if I can get a massage organised sharpish and see if that helps.

Well, nothing hurt when I was doing it. Tends to feel better during training, but then it's a question of whether it actually helps the recovery when I'm out of the gym.
