Squat
60x5, 80x5, 100x5, 120x3, 140x2x6

Bench Press
70x4, 85x4, 100x4, 112.5x4x6

Could have been easier.

Pulldown (parallel grip)
90x5, 105x3, 120x2x5

Hammer Curl
20sx16x3

L-lateral raise + rotation
7sx12x2

Not feeling too great on the Russian routine at the moment. Not sure whether to trust the analogue scales at the gym but they said 92kg today. One at home says 95kg - although that's after a big meal - so who knows? I think the heavy close grips on Tuesdays are definitely taking it out of me for the volume on Thursdays. Have to have a look at that.

OH Press
40x5, 50x3, 60x3, 70x1x5, 60x5x5

Barbell Row
115x3x8

SLDL off block
50x10, 90x10, 110x10

Decided to just do one top set on these; 3 is too much work with full deadlifts as well.

Rope pressdown

Regarding the scales at Sugden, we think that they weigh a few kilos under. This was proven when Joni came up here, protesting he was 108kg despite weighing over 110kg on three sets of scales.

He muttered plans of complaining to the manager about being consistantly ripped off.....Roll-Eyes

That's pretty crappy if the 50p electronic superduper scales are inaccurate to the tune of a few kilos. I'll have to get my own soon, with all these untrustworthy ones about.

Squat
60x5, 80x5, 100x5, 120x3, 140x5x6

Squats haven't been feeling too good lately, but apart from a few godawful reps where I dropped too fast or had my stance too wide, these were not bad at all.

Bench Press
70x5, 85x4, 100x3, 112.5x2x6

DB Bench Press
37.5sx14, 12, 11

Pull-up

Some "fun" cardio tonight...

15kg DB Swing
20 reps x 12 sets w/ 40 sec rests

So kind of high intensity interval training really.

Followed by:

Treadmill 10mins @ incline 4 speed 6

I really must get some kind of consistency going with cardio - this is a half-decent amount of work if I actually do it regularly (like, at least twice a week). Then I'll up the volume/intensity a bit - faster and steeper incline on the treadmill and more sets/reps on the swings. If I hadn't started doing a fair bit of stretching after workouts I'd be able to fit it in, but with an eye on injury prevention, the stretching is something I definitely don't want to be skipping.

Front Squat
60x5, 80x3, 100x2, 110x1, 120x1, 130x1x2

Deadlift
60x5, 120x3, 145x3, 170x3x2, 190x2x4

Close Grip Bench Press
60x6, 80x6, 92.5x3, 105x6, 6, 5

Deadlift from knee
120x4, 145x4, 170x4x2, 192.5x3x2, 215x2x3

Machine Row
104x12

Deadlifts felt nice and easy. Bit disappointed with the close grips but I was in a rush and couldn't take as long rests as I would have liked.

30/11/06

Squat
60x5, 80x5, 100x4, 120x3, 140x2x6

Nice and easy, just like the low volume days ought to be on this routine.

Bench Press
70x5, 85x5, 100x3, 112.5x4, 110x5x4, 112.5x4

Hmmm. Started off absolutely crap. Had to rack 112.5 on the lower hooks cos I failed the 5th rep half way up. Very pissed off but dropped down to 110 and stopped pausing. By the 4th set with 110 it was really easy so I went back up to 112.5 and arsed up the last set by not bringing the bar out far enough and trying to readjust before the last rep. Bad idea. So disappointing, but not as bad as it was looking at the start. Still hopeful I can nail 112.5x6x6 next week if I drop the high rep close grips midweek.

Pulldown (supinated)
98x5, 112x3, 126x1x5

Dead easy, as it should be. Back to 3s next week.

Hammer Curl
17.5sx20x3

Bloody awful. Feeling a bit ill but don't know if that really had anything to do with it.

Barbell Row
70x3, 90x3, 110x3, 117.5x3x8

Don't think it did. These were fine.

SLDL off block
60x10, 80x10, 100x10, 120x10

Can I get up to a PB set of 10 on these while doing competition deadlifts as well? Hmmm. These were quite hard.

Squat
60x6, 80x6, 100x6, 120x3, 140x6x6

Excellent. Best squatting session in a long time - since 150x10 probably. Feeling confident that 150x5x5 will be very hard but will definitely go.

Bench Press
70x5, 85x4, 100x3, 112.5x2x6

Not liking this at the moment. Set-up doesn't feel tight; reps aren't fast enough. Hopefully dropping the volume of close grips will help - just working up to a triple from now on.

DB Bench Press
40sx12, 11, 11

Pull-up/Pulldown (no dipping belt so had to innovate...)
BWx10 / 105x10 / BWx10 / 98x10 (sup.) / BWx10 / 98x10 (sup.)

Front squats and deadlifts tomorrow! My favourite day....

Not bad at all.

Close Grip Bench Press
60x5, 80x4, 100x3, 110x3

Deadlift
70x5, 120x3, 145x3, 170x3x2, 195x3x2, 205x2x3, 195x3x2

Could have been faster but OK.

Machine Row
98x8, 91x8x4

Machine Reverse Flye
56x6x5

Good session despite annoyance of people walking past your nose every two minutes when you're trying to deadlift. Singularly displeased about the state of my hip though. Don't know where it's come from - not had any twinges in training but somehow it hurts again. Hopefully some ibuprofen and stretching will sort it out. Didn't hurt at all during training though, which is definitely a positive.

By the way mate, to preserve your lovely text formatting across journals, remember to copy and paste everything you've written before you click the submit button - then you don't have to just copy the output without the BB code.

I'm making sure you know this because I want your log here to be as good as possible.. your one on MT is rapidly descending into BS Unhappy

What's wrong with my MT log??!?!!

I don't understand your copy and paste comment. I always copy and paste the whole thing from MT but the bold formatting doesn't work, and when I highlight and click on the B button it gives:

Squat[b*][/b*] (without asterisks)

instead of having them either side and therefore working.

It sounds like it's easiest if you make your log entry on MT first and then copy all your post while you're still in the post window... that way when you copy and paste it into your log here.. all the formatting tags will still be there.

You may speak several languages but computers obviously isn't one of them!! Tongue

No, I'm fairly useless with computers. I see what you mean - what I've done is c and p after the post's up. Now I see it's obvious why that doesn't work. Tongue
