Mask it or Casket !! Member 4600, 8166 posts SQ 240, BP 162.5, DL 255657.5 kgs @ 90.5kgs UnEq | Very few naturally big men are suited to sm - Lack the agility for the moving events. Few exceptions would include Terry and Phister. I would also include Ted van der Parre. AdamT said:I think Terry is naturally meant to be huge. Very thick boned and huge.

No. Standard bar, and calibrated plates, just like each of the last two years. Saying its not a deadlift is beyond ridiculous. It may not be a powerlifting deadlift, but thats entirely different. This is roughly the same as saying an f1 car isnt a car, it may not be a car everyone can get in and drive to the shop, but its definitely a car.

They use a deadlift bar as opposed to an all round power bar. All big pulls outside the IPF tend to use specific deadlift bars though

more like 'FAT TROLL' Member 984, 6331 posts SQ 420, BP 260, DL 3351015.0 kgs @ 165kgs UnEq | Like others have said pulling a Texas DL bar (thinner and longer) is common practice. Every single powerlifting meet I have done I have pulled on one.

End of an era. Member 4646, 1964 posts | Post Edited: 13.07.2016 @ 14:13 PM by Mikeneto That is why I find people saying the bar at the Arnold's is ridiculous and way easier a bit baffling. It flexes about as much as the one at the deadlift champs...plus going off Jerry Pritchett and Eddie, neither got an advantage most likely the opposite.

End of an era. Member 4646, 1964 posts | Actually after the contest the athletes said it was just like pulling with a regular deadlift bar. The weird long bar training they did probably felt a bit pointless.

I recommend the track - Slut Machine Member 6043, 955 posts SQ 350, BP 195, DL 350895.0 kgs @ 150kgs UnEq | The WR bar was an okie DL. Same length as a Texas but not as aggressively knurled and not as whippy which was probably deliberate given the huge amount of weight on it.

It just had longer ends on to fit on thicker plates. But they did it because the plates looked cool, makes it look visually better for the audience and TV. http://www.roguefitness.com/media/wysiwyg/deep-dish.jpg
