It's a moonface era now. Member 5901, 956 posts | Mikeneto said: Well I am guessing events and athletes haven't been officially announced going off Shaw's recent video. I guess he doesn't want to come across as he is definitely going when unknown. I would say he does go, prize money is too good and events suit him. he says he doesnt have plans for long career he just wants to win WSM once and after will stop because cant be 400 pounds for long

Member 5560, 769 posts | To be honest Arnold's are so set up for Z I don't find it all that credible anymore. Sorry to sound like a dick. I'm sure Hall will compete if invited. Should top 3 it really.

After Shaw winning last year, I wouldn't be surprised if they put in extra pressing events to help Z. f**k it I think Shaw is better than Z. Bring on the abuse lol

Doesn't like tall people very much. Member 5708, 391 posts SQ 260, BP 195, DL 275730.0 kgs @ 137.5kgs UnEq | AdamT said: f**k it I think Shaw is better than Z. Bring on the abuse lol I've thought of Z as the best because most strongmen consider him so and that's good enough for me, but to me Shaw is a dropped sandbag away from being 4-3 up on WSM titles not 4-3 down and I think he'll win a few more. I wonder what he'll have to achieve in his career to ever be considered better than Z? I don't think some people will ever see it. I don't think logging 200kg and winning dumbbell events counts as not being able to press.

Shaw is slightly better at just about every strongman event except for pressing and squatting. Its close enough though that Z can beat him some of the time on things like Stones, Truck, Yoke ETC. But it's only 2/3 times out of 10.

I hit a pb today with a chest infection Member 3283, 1921 posts | A bit similar to the Ronaldo/Messi debate. And roughly the same answer should apply. Rather than who's best im just grateful to be of the generation who gets to see them compete, in the flesh at europes or on TV, and laugh in amazement at how easy they make things look.

Mask it or Casket !! Member 4600, 8166 posts SQ 240, BP 162.5, DL 255657.5 kgs @ 90.5kgs UnEq | agree with a lot of the comments on here. Shaw is a phenomenal athlete. However, he lacks the ability to make you want him to win. Its not necessarily tangible but its something people have picked up on regarding him being a bit 'off'. If age has learned me anything, its to trust my instincts. Also, I have not enjoy watching all the injuries so far...I dont wish injury on any of them. and Danny Wallace gets worse with each show, employing his poor quality commetating and lack of understanding of strongman shows contempt for the sport on behalf of the tv station.

Still got a little bit of strength Member 400, 22056 posts | Years ago there were no rules against belt cleans. In recent years they haven't been allowed. They were probably not technically allowed here, but easier to turn a blind eye to!
