Fat Sam.

Thats a dream top 3 right there sir

Z and a few others are nearing the end of there accounts, there is only a genetically limited amount of withdraws you can make...Ed and thor are still making deposits. Moreover, Ed will beat Z on the log before long, injury forbid.

Shaw...said it before, hes a damn great strongman...but zero charisma... trust in your instincts fellas, they are so often right...i used to be scared of gary glitter in the 70s, I was right!

Wayne_Cowdrey said:If Hall incorporated a little flick of the legs could he match Z?

In reality.

top three
edd, thor, Z, Shaw...in no particular order it depends now on events... barrel throw and ed will be last, squat and thor wont win, twoovwrhead events and shaw is out etc.

I don't mind him. To be honest Z is probably the nicer guy and as it stands, the greater strongman. But I used to hate the excuses Z fans made for him over the years, because someone had the audacity to beat him.

Strongman isn't purely about static strength. Pudz used to dominate Z in the early years, in most comps. One year he was asked about losing to Z at the Arnolds. He said " I beat him in 17 of our 20 meetings." people forget this, because all people care about is the static power. Even in Pudz last year he still ran Z pretty close.

Pudz wouldn't make it out of the groups these days IMO

yes he would. He would win loading race and grind out a few reps in the static event. If Pudz was around now, he would most likely be bigger as well as stronger. I don't think he would win now, but come on. No disrespect to Mark Felix and a few others like Caron. Do you really believe these guys would beat a competitive animal like Mariusz??

Also this is my opinion and I respect yours. Just incase you think I'm being a c**t lol

I don't know about that. Maybe not if he'd failed to evolve. I know he was small for a strongman but he was gifted and I find it hard to believe that he would've been incapable of adapting to the demands.

Having said that I don't think he'd podium.

To say the pudz who has won more wsm titles than anyone else wouldn't make the final is a massive call. After all there is usually only one 1-rep max event and I think that's the only place he'd struggle now. And like already pointed out he would have evolved with the sport.

Predictions for next year

1 Shaw
2 Thor
3 Hall

Has anyone else noticed Hall doesn't post videos of him log pressing lately?! I'm wondering if we're gonna get a big surprise next time we see it or has he been neglecting it a little lately. Hopefully the first

Pudz doesn't have the giant frame which is pretty much a requirement these days. Could he have evolved or did he reach the max potential of his body? I think he'd be a mid table kind of guy now.

its easy to "show" respect when u win
nobody mention here Z outpresses tha "staticaly" strongest ed hall
for 2nd time in an year by more than 20 kilos
i will not comment how absurd shaw pressing is
tacky story is true, im happy here are people that confirm it

So Ed pressed 195 and then pulled out, Z pressed 205? Or am I wrong?

Strange time to go for a record log though... Very risky.

His frame is as big as a few top guys. Just not as blown up as them. Plus his fitness is on another level. The big guys struggled with one rep max on log. Too big and run out of oxygen. That wouldn't of happened with Pudz. I don't think he would win, but a young Pudz weighing around 150-155 would be a scary sight. He was also really mental strong. I would be shocked if he wasn't at least top 4-5.

Pharma grade insulina and some platform shoes, he'd be golden.

I think, if you watch back their earlier meetings at wsm, you will see that you are maybe over egging it by saying pudz dominated z. ill give you 03 but both z and virastyuk beat pudz in 04, and in 02 z wasnt far off in a final with no pressing event.

dont forget that nearly all of the best strongmen of the time jumped ship to ifsa during pudz domination of wsm. arguably, virastyuk and z had the beating of pudz on their day and it wouldve been unlikely that pudz wouldve got all the wins he did with them there.

and as far as myths go, the one that z is only great because he is the strongest statically is the biggest one out there!

I'm not saying Pudz was greatest ever. He still won 2 titles before split and beat Poundstone in 08. Also in his last comp he placed higher than any current guy other than Z.

170 log and 405 dead are Pudz' PBs...

400 is relatively poor at world level nowadays

170 log would be close to last place out of all 30 athletes at wsm this year?

The moving events would be too heavy for him nowadays, running with a 300kg yoke doesn't mean he could run with a 500kg yoke.

If he bloated up to 160kg and stayed fit with it... different story!
