I don't see why they can't judge the squat to depth like in a PL contest. It's not hard, refs judge hundreds of squats per day at a PL meet. Thor is mint, he is literally 'The Mountain' in real life, too. Amazing. Rafal Kobylarz looks like Sloth from the Goonies and doesn't really look like he lifts weights!? Anybody else not particularly a Shaw fan? I mean obviously he is an amazing strongman but I can't help thinking oh for f**ks sake everytime he wins. Used to enjoy seeing Pudz dominate the field. Shaw just bores me. Speaking as a fan of course. 2016 Hall for WSM... Hall and Thor are celebrities and fun to watch. Get what I mean? | ||

I think Shaw is the best strongman, and I've only ever seen him be nice to his fans or interviewers but there's something off about him. I get the impression he has a massive ego, it seems that he's fallen out with enough people. He doesn't like Z, doesn't really like Thor, fell out with Burke. He's now pally with Ed but I feel that's only while he thinks he's got the beating of him. This is all unfounded and I could be wrong, it's the same reasoning I said why he hasn't pulled a max deadlift, can't stand to lose. | ||

As for worlds, i think it has sucked so far, events far too heavy an too dangerous. To most people im sure it seems like everybody but shaw, z and thor are s**t. Also didnt like how the doctor guy lied about how it's not got more dangerous despite injuries left right and centre. If it had not got more dangerous he wouldnt have been asked. | ||

First reason is because everybody will be f**ked, second reason is who in the right mind would want to compete when the organisers take almost all the money, an the athletes are getting destroyed? Has to be putting a lot of people off. | ||

Look at last year when he was pipped, he turned his back on both Z and Thor on the podium, didn't congratulate them at all... Sad really! Hall & Thor are great to watch, like it's already been said, Z costs through the heats, but he;s still great to watch as you're kind of waiting to see what extra he'll do, just to prove a point! Even though we all know who won WSM this year, it's still good to watch the heats and it'll be an interesting year next year | ||

 Member 5560, 769 posts | If most of the top guys are fit then its going to be very tight on who makes the final next year. There is now a big gap between the very top guys and the rest but below the very top there about 20 guys who are pretty even over 6 events. Can't wait for WSM 2016. | ||

Yeah he doesn't like losing, but f**k it who does! He is humble and very passionate about the sport, and he's fully entitled to have an ego considering what he's done. He came across very well on the recent mark bell podcast, but if I'm honest I'd rather see Ed win. | ||

The commentator also called Z cocky, which is blasphemous in many countries. Bryce seems to have a hard time replying to his dumb comments. I agree with Paul Savage that there needs to be more attention paid to the athlete's welfare, even if it compromises the entertainment value of the contest. | ||
