Member 798, 9948 posts SQ 260, BP 150, DL 272.5682.5 kgs @ 82.5kgs UnEq | Wednesday 8th July 2015 - ME Squats and Deads @ Middlewood Late start tonight and Padawan Jon only had about an hour to train so we blasted through the warm up sets at a hell of a pace. Then just after my first top set, he got called home but he was good enough to hang on for a couple of minutes whilst I got my breath back so that he could spot me on my second beltless set. I was solo for the rest of the session Squats - Beltless
From 3" Blocks
Snatch Grip (from the floor)
Tough old session tonight, but it's another one that we got through Macca xxx

Hi Jack, This is a very loaded question and will not have a straight forward answer, a lot of what I will suggest will be need to be personalised to your specific requirements. So for me to give you a meaningful response I'll need to know one or two things about your good self.

OwenL said:Jack asks some good questions, im also interested £500 max, espresso, black and latte type coffee's. I usually have 2x normal cups a day and a couple of espresso's. Ok, here we go. Let's take Owen's £500 budget. You need to start by investing in a good burr grinder. When making espresso based drinks, grind and grind uniformity are massively important and cheap grinders will trip up even the most expensive espressos machine. Your looking at something like a Rancillo Rocky or a Iberital MC2 http://www.happydonkey.co.uk/iberital-mc2-grinders/ http://www.myespresso.co.uk/product/rancilio-rocky-non-doser-c... With the grinder out of the way, you need to look at machines. At around the £350 the best machine available for my money is the Rancillio Silvia http://www.myespresso.co.uk/product/rancilio-silvia-v4-semi-au... It's made by a good company, has been around for a long time and therefore has a wide user base / community for tips etc, has good quality internals (brass boiler / grouphead etc) and spares are readily available. You can also pimp it out with PID temperature controllers etc if you really get into it. Once you know what your doing with it, you can produce the best quality espresso possible and it has plenty of power to steam milk properly. From here, as you go up the price brackets, you are buying more convenience than anything else - Having dual boilers so that you can steam milk whilst pouring coffee, being able to set the boiler temperature to within 0.5 of a degree to ensure you get the same brew temp each time to be able to adjust for different beans, have automatic dosing of shots so that you always get the same amount of espresso etc. There are the bean to cup machines, but the good ones are all north of £1000. You often see Silvia's on ebay so it might be worth keeping your eye out for one. http://coffeegeek.com/ is a good place to start your obsession Oh, once you have your brewing equipment you obviously need good quality, freshly roasted (by folks that know what they are doing) beans. A couple of good places are; http://www.hasbean.co.uk http://www.redber.co.uk/

I'd get a dolce gusto and make do The villa I just stayed in had one and the espresso you got out of it was drinkable. It wasn't great, but it was far better than drinking instant and they are very convenient. They will be pants at milk bed drinks though (latte, cappuccino etc)
