Can't say too much but looks like I won't be in work very soon. I thought my fiance would be ripping my eyeballs out with stress etc but she's actually very enthusiastic saying that I can now go and do what I've always wanted.

Trouble is, it's all quite scary. I'm 32 in a couple of months. I have a degree already but it's not in the area I want. I'd feel a right prick going back to college to do an Access to Health course and then the resulting health related degree but I guess I'd feel even more grim aged 40 having spent 8 years putting it off.

I guess being at college/uni has it's other benefits such as more time to train and spend with my kids. I can always work part time to keep the cash coming in.

f**king hell. I think I've talked myself into it!

If you can, go for it.

I've been thinking about finally pursuing a career I want rather than what pays well lately.
If I knew we'd be financially sound whilst studying I'd do it straight away, not so easy when I'm the only one bringing in money in the house.

Never too late though!

Done the same at 27, blasting through uni now and ain't had time to think back about old job. Best thing ever just working towards something positive and new!

Just go for it. Im 40, back in 2009 I fell ill and was medically retired from my career (which I thought would always be there). I am now in recovery of sorts and the one thing I regreat is not having done any extra courses to prepare myself for the situation I now find myself in. Hind sight is a wonderful thing and I now wish I had done those course's and things I put off.

If you have a chance then grab it with both hands.

Friend of mine is doing his second degree aged 43.

You're never too old to learn.

Do it.

I'm strongly considering my first degree at 23. Not sure whether to go the 'Access course to Regular Uni' or just study with the 'Open University' though (Never got a levels)

Mainly because I'm finding life dull without working towards something and money isn't a good enough motivator for me to carry on working a boring job.

Cheers for the replies fellas.

Application is going in next week. I have a couple of part time jobs lined up. Also been offered some work at my gym which is even better. Also helping my lady set up her online hair & beauty stuff so should have plenty going on to keep some pennies rolling in.

Happy

People always regret what they have not done,we are here once for a short time,a dream is like a beautiful butterfly that you want to catch with both hands,if it leaves your grasp at least you held it,go for it.
