Thor very impressive also . Big improvements .
Just wonder how much can Z pull at his Arnold shape ?!

I'd say z, brian and Terry are all capable of 445, still think Benni could pull that bit more. He really is built for deadlifting

I would expect they would push benni on to a bigger deadlift if he did a few commps against them..

Glad to see Thor pulling so well.

And no surprise at all to see Benni dominating, his deadlifting is ridiculous.

Am i right in thinking this is the first time the world strongman AND powerlifting deadlift records have been held by the same person and at the same time ?

just beastly.
he always trains pretty light in comparison to his competition maxes.
heaviest pulls were 380 x 2 in training easy and light and 445kg heavy in competition.does anyone else train like this? i always thought that you have to train heavy the last weeks to get used to those weights...

also i think zydrunas could pull over 450kg in his current shape.
with a hitch etc.

Obviously he is doing 400kilos in training regularily and before his 460 he did several workouts of 400k for 4-5 reps (touch and go but still). However these heavier workouts are probably not in the last couple of weeks before contest.

What I like about both Benni and Savickas is that they pull with perfect form which is nice to see. There are a lot of uncontrollable "s**tty" positions in strongman events. No reason to make deadlifts one of them, from a injury risk point of view.. (obviously the kilos count though, and if hitching is allowed, you should probably know how to hitch)

The thing about strongman deadlifts is....they are strongman deadlifts. Rather than having some pointy heads analysing the s**t out of a lift and giving no lift to athletes they don't like, the strongest men win by lifting the most weight, any bloody way, from the floor to a standing position.

The heaviest lift he did this time was 1 with 400kg.but still 445kg is way above 400kg.
Also i think touch and go is his favourite. Most people can lift more repititions with t&g.I can lift considerably less weight t&g

Given that he's only recently started heavy training again, I'm sure that Bennie still has it in him to break his record. If he wants it and can stay injury free I can see 465-470 this year. Bennie is the king.
