Great video...

Would have been more interesting if they had picked similar weight guys. e.g 90kg class people ish from each thing.

Also, That weightlifter was awesome. Lovely form every rep.

Anyone up for trying this? How many do you reckon you could get in the five minutes? what technique would you go for?

We have done a couple of things like this.
One was reps x weight in 4 mins
I did 67 @ 70kg..
Rich Scott did 70 @ 100kg
Loz did 50 @ 140kg
It kills!!

Had to do 100 reps at bodyweight a couple of weeks ago and it took about 9 minutes. Its a weird one as you dont know how fast to set off.

I once did 46 reps with bodyweight in 3mins but wasn't able to rack the weight during that period. It gave me the worst DOMS I've ever had in 18-years of training.

Based on the longer time and being able to rack the weight I reckon I'd push 70 reps at 90kg bodyweight

I was actually disappointed when I realised they were allowed to rack the weight. Keeping the bar on the shoulders for 5 mins would take that challenge to another level.

They are only 70kg though? I bet his max squat is between 180-200. That's going off the size of his quads at 69kg BW.

As a percentage of max the weightlifter was always going to win. It was an easy weight in a motion that he trains multiple times a week.

The powerlifter surprised me, thought he was doing poor at start just kept going though and got the draw

He just looks uber comfy squatting. Like its a natural movement for him

Everyone can get their squat looking like that, trust me! Squatting is not most unatural movement for me, wrong leverages, bad joints, bad flexibility, weak! but after about 5 years my squats look like that.

Really good video, enjoyed that. Incredibly envious of the weightlifter's squat, my front squats look a bit like that, but I've never been able to get my back squat that nice.

Tactics are a big part of that, the powerlifter was racking more often than some others early on.

Used to train for most bodyweight reps in one set, no re-racking. Most I got was 42 at 80kg. Which was disappointing as the goal was 50, and my hips won't let me do that sort of thing any more.
