Why do they keep using those crappy handles which ruin everyone's hands at the beginning of the final? It's not like it would be difficult to change them. That aside, I liked all the events. I thought the press medley was a good change. Watching the bar bending and moving around like that made I look cool. Would've loved to have seen misha do it. It was a real shame to see terry get injured but I think his performance up until then shows that he's got some more years left in him. Shaw was as impressive as I've seen him, as was thor and z looked rattled from he beginning. Definitely the best man won on the day. Actually, one other complaint would be the poor memorial of Jenkins. They did a much better job when marunde passed. I'm guessing it had to do with production times but I think at least a voice over should've been done. I hope they do something similar to what they did for marunde in one of next years giants lives. Overall I think the production was improved. Good job getting rid of Caroline Pearce. The new girl is a much better presenter. Kaz seems a lot better now too. He really plays up the 'every muscle in your body is screaming out' type of stuff well. I thought the qualifiers were a little flat but that was more to do with how they panned out in the sporting sense than the show itself.

woefully weak Member 4748, 1506 posts SQ 157, BP 133, DL 260 550.0 kgs @ 104kgs UnEq	I was chatting to Nick Best who was in the audience for the final that day and he said that a major factor was the heat on the handles. They just left them there under 30+ degrees sun and the handles got really hot. He said they'd used similar handles/weight of frame in same conditions in Vegas recently but put cold towels or something on them noone had any problems. So it was a combination of factors i suppose. You can't really see it on TV but when Terry dropped the frame for the first time that was when it ripped his hand open. There was a little circle of blood on the ground just where he dropped it. He looked set to win that event otherwise.

We had a 320k smooth handled frame carry in this years Welsh as the second part of the medley , think I dropped it and picked it back up 3 times with no damage and pretty sure nobody else tore callouses , obviously having smooth handles means you have to use slightly lighter weights but if it saves competitors tearing hands open it has to be better.
