Hows' the hip? Is it getting better? I've been lurking for a little bit here and getting bench envy.

I've been dealing with hip and back issues for a while now but recently started to see real progress by going back to basics and performing hip flexion and external rotation exercises, along with simple static stretches. This is after trying everything you can think of. I noticed that my bad hip is internally rotated with a valgus compensation at the foot/ankle (with collapsed arches). With being like it is, whenever I got into deep flexion, because it was so internally rotated, it would get impinged, become really painful and really inflamed. So, I've been working on daft exercises where I flex the hip and externally rotate in various positions multiple times per day. I've also been working on lateral and rotary trunk stability.

The net result is that my pain is now really diminished and my mobility had improved a ton.

Cheers for the comment appreciate it really useful to hear other people's experiences.

Its getting better my broignosis is that it's sine SI joint inflammation or something to do with SI joint.

I can pretty much do everything pain free if my pelvis is immobile and my spine is in a neutral position.

Going to talk to a professional next week as I need a plan of action from someone who know what they are talking about.

Leaving it alone for a while is looking like my only real option. Some exercises and stretches would give me something else to conentrate on.

Sounds like you are at least getting a good idea about whats happening. Hopefully this professional can provide some assistance so you can squat more than your bench again Happy

Definitely get it checked out. I've had varying different diagnoses over the years, from all sorts of practitioners and therapists. I was getting pretty despondent because I had lost a ton of strength and it felt like I was about done with training my lower body. I saw a therapist on the recommendation of a biomechanist I know and he basically pointed out the hip and foot issue, which is also affected by a limb-length difference. If you have any AiM practitioners (Anatomy in Motion), have a chat and see what they think. A very different way of viewing mechanics and human movement from conventional wisdom.

Anyway mate, long story short. As soon as I started to address it I started to see improvements really quick. I've been having problems since the dawn of time so I'm sure you can get yourself sorted.
