I will pm you with a recipe and ask her if she's ever followed any cookbooks too

That would be much appreciated Mike thank you

My stew tonight was incredible! Very impressed. Didn't think food that tasty would be at the hands of me

sweet pots don't hold their shape very well in slow cooker, regular pots however do.

Mine held their shape. Cut them into bite sized chunks, not too small.

Not that I ever bake cakes, but should the mood ever take you, I was informed the other day that you can actually make cakes in a slow cooker, if it's all you have to hand. Needless to say my mind was blown

I use a casserole rather than a slow cooker and set the oven to about 150c

Pulled pork:

2kg pork shoulder, trimmed of excess fat
chilli flakes
cumin
coriander
sea salt
juice of 1 lime
Water to cover

Leave for about 5 hrs. Serve in taco shells with sour cream and grated cheese

What I'm eating right now

Brisket of beef
1/2 bottle red wine left over from last night
carrots
onion
parsnips
salt & pepper
3 bay leaves
tablespoon mixed herbs

Serve with jacket potatoes cooked in the oven at the same time

I'm waiting on a ham shank (ooh er) in Cola. Never tried it before but at under £2 the dogs can have it if it's crap.

Robbo, you're a star, I've used the slow cooker for the last two days. It's been in a cupboard for about 4 years I got out of the habit of uing it.

4lbs brisket, 2 finely chopped onions and one can of Guinness. Left it for 12 hours and it is incredibe Happy

Two of us had loads and there's still just over half left. Total cost ? About £6 and there's 2lbs of beef left for sarnies tomorrow Grin
