still a devious weightlifting bastard Member 43, 14374 posts | Couple of guys have started revealing their inner selves with respect to spiritual leanings and faith. What are your personal views on religeon, faith, customs and how much your chosen deity helps you with that lone squat that either forces you to s**t yourself or narrowly miss the above. For the record I dont believe in a super being, but I've never shat myself on a squat either, so it's all good.

Dan is old fashioned. Member 27, 2028 posts SQ 240, BP 170, DL 255665.0 kgs @ 102kgs UnEq | Post Edited: 26.11.2009 @ 13:13 PM by Dan I am forced to relate further tales of my questionable upbringing !Sent to a Convent School where the teachers were all Nuns, had Catholicism rammed down my throat until I was big enough, at about age 14, to rebel. One of my favourite sayings, which I may have invented and of which I am sure Fat Pete would be proud : Anything you have to sell that hard can't be that good... I believe in me, anything I want or need I have to get myself. To substantiate my argument I will tell you about my experiences last Christmas which may or may not have changed my life forever. Last Christmas I prayed and prayed and prayed that Santa would bring me a Playstation 3 and he didn't, so I went to Argos on Boxing Day and bought one on my MBNA Credit Card and lived happily ever after. This simple parable, which I will call the tale of home entertainment, proves beyond any reasonable doubt that God : A. Does not exist. B. Does not shop at Argos. C. Has CCJs lodged against him and therefore does not have a Credit Card and should make appointment to visit Ocean Finance to consolidate all his debts into one easy monthly payment. This simple parable, my friends, would also tend to suggest that MBNA Europe Bank is God as they are the provider of all things good and finding a PS3 on Boxing Day really was a miracle. I rest my case. Believe in what you want to believe and I will respect it, but don't push it down other people's throats. That's what cocks are for...

still a devious weightlifting bastard Member 43, 14374 posts | The lord works in mysterious ways. I applied for a 0% Virgin credit card, which was refused for some reason. Not only that, my MBNA CC (owned by Virgin) rate was upped by 2%/ month due to my financial circumstances I duly paid this off and closed the account only to recieve a letter telling me that my closed account would go against my credit rating. Financial institutions are the work of Satan no less. Anyway, tell me about these nuns. Did they abuse you in any way?

please use accurate taxonomy in our communication Member 871, 469 posts SQ 240, BP 137.5, DL 262.5640.0 kgs @ 89kgs Eq | Avowedly atheist - but I am also aware that many people whose intelligence I greatly admire have been equally convinced of the validity of their belief in a god (or gods), and so am very much inclined towards tolerance. I also encourage my kids to learn about world religions (doctrine and observation), not least because of their importance to culture/history/law, etc. And yes, I even read the Bible (or abridged stories) with them. Need to wait a few more years until I can get them to work on the Vulgate (one of the best ways to ease into Latin, just in case anybody is interested...)

Do hugs, not drugs. Member 136, 712 posts SQ 380, BP 242.5, DL 330952.5 kgs @ 110kgs Eq | I am not tolerant of people who are religious - they are deluded and dangerous. Palestine, 11th of September, The Crusades, Bosnia, Northern Ireland, The Inquisition, American Evangelical right - the list is endless. One of my favourite placards of all time was photographed during the London protests over the Danish cartoons depicting the Prophet Mohammed, it said "Behead those who say Islam is a violent religion" - wonderful!!

always trolling for a reaction Member 753, 1280 posts | I definitely believe in God and couldn’t care less under what path that is. I’m Sikh, wear a turban, go to the temple once in a while and follow some of the teachings, but not many. I’ve done my fair share of alcohol abuse, eat animals by the dozen, trim my beard, swear as much as MattGriff, experienced many a woman (although no longer as I’m becoming more and more socially inept, unkempt, fatter and uglier) and generally don’t like much of the human race (not because of religion but because they’re c*nts). Obviously I question it all and wonder when bad things happen and when my prayers aren’t answered but then I watched Bruce Almighty and Morgan Freeman enlightened me. If you look at the world around you, there is no way science can explain it all, or even get close.
