2night just tried some total breakfast from MP mixed with unflavoured whey. tasted pretty good and seemed to leave me feeling less tired throughout the sesh.

In all honesty, that's what I have before 99% of my workouts.

I used to be really anal about eating all the 'right' foods at the 'right' times. Now I just eat like I wanted to and feel exactly the same and workouts seem just as productive. The only time I might even contemplate eating something special is if ive had to miss a meal.

It is best to have a slow burning carb through your workout so that you do not run out of an energy source, i would eat this an hour and a half (ish) before workout..

eating a high GI carb before workout is bad, oats are proberly the best form of carb anyway!

oats are a quality carb source i just took this thread as what is best to use to help get through workout, oats an hour or so before wont do anything, oats are for breakfast and release steadily over the day.

carbs during workout i avoid, will bloat stomach and cause an insulin spike, once that goes can feel sluggish.

i have my pre workout drink then only water whilst training, then after workout some refined carbs and then whey and maltodextrin in water

Big_Gray, I get up at 6.45 and am at the gym by 7.30, usually have 50 grams powdered oats, 10 grams honey, a banana, half a pint of whole milk, and a double espresso about 7, then a shake of 50 grams maltodextrin and 10 grams dextrose through my training.

Got any better suggestions for someone who trains early like me?
