Small one has another ear infection which is making his sleep a bit hit and miss. Poor little fella has had a perforated ear drum for over a year. Apparently it will heal at some point and surgery won't help. It generally doesn't bother him but does mean he's prone to infection.

60kg x 5 reps --I decided to just stick with this weight for now, I can always increase over the next few weeks. My first goal is to hit 80kg.

Reverse Band Z-Press

Ok good limits have been established. Adding the bands was a great idea if I do say so myself. The focus is to oveload lockout but since the bar leaves the bands it also provides a greater stability challenge then the press against bands I have been doing. It feels like 120kg will be a good working weight although I may stick with 110kg and try to increase the reps. I'll mull that over for the next session.

Cheers mate, I did the DB version a few years back and it gave me big shoulder power. I just never really got around to doing it on a bar. Bizarrely my chest is killing me now. I think this could be very useful indeed.

The good old Z press haven't done that one in years might have to give that a try again sometime in the near future. strong pressing as always mate

The funny thing is while my shoulders got an epic pump, it was and and upper back that felt worked. Is that a comon thing or just my own specific weaknesses?

I have a pre-grading event on Sunday so keeping it light again today. I need to be recovered. It will be a looong day, 9:30 - 5.

Today I focused on my breathing, bracing and overall tightness. Its pretty much sucked. I've got some many things that I need to improve on. However the silver lining part is when it went right (well more or less) like in the 220kg rep, it made the lift feel super easy. More practice on stuff like this will mean more PB's.

Another truly epic KM weekend. I feel like I'm making progress and the October grading is certainly on the cards. I took a fair few wacks so i have a black eye today but I gave as good as I got so I feel happy with that. Side note; my shoves have come on almost comically. I went to give my training partner a little nudge backwards and he absolutely flew with the result of wiping out 2 other people. That was as much a shock to me as anyone else. I think my increased shoulder power is having some carry over.

--Slight modification to form. Hands are narrower with the idea this will make my lats and upper back tighter.

230kg x 1 rep --A bit slow but otherwise felt great.

These tweaks feel very good. They have the effect of being more quad dominant and less lower back. I think because I tend to stay a little more upright. Either way they feel very good. I'll keep this and see how it goes. Quads destroyed though so had to call it a day. Ha what a woosey

Cheers mate, I like to just get the blood pumping a little at lunch. I sit down all day so a bit of movement is called for.

Woke up with a screaming head ache today, made training interesting.

160kg x 5 reps --PB by 2 reps. Bracing hard against the belt made a big difference, easily had more in me.

Done. I had a Doctor appointment this morning as these headaches have been going on for ages. I have something called Trigeminal neuralgia which basically means one of the nerves in my brain is under pressure which is caused server stabbing pain on the left side of mt forehead. Yay. I've got some meds now so lets see how it goes.

Bad news on the head thing mate, hope the meds sort things out for you.

On the plus side...epic squat and nice repping the 300kg on deads there!! Looking strong AF mate.
