More messing about this morning, 0550 start:
CG Bench- up to 120kg
Pushpress- up to 100kg
SS circus DB: 9x53, 3x64 (all right arm)
Weak, but can still nail the DB, even fasted and at the end of a session- proof that it's all tech!
Have a cunning plan for next week adding a bit of strength to my BB stuff.....

Cheers Davy, I've done the 78 and it wasn't too bad- my pressing is pretty terrible, but my DB tech (odd as it looks) seems to work!

Yeah, you did the 78 before I did mate.
I find the circus ones hard to get right compared to other ones.
I think you are technically a pretty good lifter anyway, your squat form is very tidy, and your DL looks good when you remember your hips. Granted i have not seen too much of your other pressing, apart from at the comp earlier in the year

Did some deadlifting today! Started with a load of glute activation stuff, seems to work wonders for my pains>
5x 60kg
5x 100kg
5x 140kg
2x 180kg
1x 200kg
1x 210kg
1x 230kg
Heaviest I've managed to go for ages. Lock out is pish, but came up faster than I thought it might. Pretty chuffed, think I can back to former strength by year end, provided I'm sensible, which I'm going to be.
The come back begins!

Good stuff Ben. Whatever you're doing for the sciatica seems to be working well. Your dumbell tech always makes me a smile a bit, it looks so strange but works really well for you.

Cheers Dave. I think I've just given myself a bit of a break with the BB stuff- wear and tear must have built up. the glute activation stuff seems to work well too.

I've still got the 'fear' that this is going to happen at any point!

Looking at that Ben it's a SLDL
I think if you could get more legs in to your deadlift then it would help your issue out as the way you do them looks like it would aggro ate the glute issue more..

SLDL will have to be the way to go- more legs/lower hips seems to make it worse, so I'll work around it for the meantime.

New block started this morning. I'll put a bit more detail in the log this time>
Started with a bunch of glute activation stuff.
1 min rest between everything
Squat:
10x60kg, 5x100kg, 3x140kg, 3x160kg, 3x160kg, 3x 160kg
Nice and easy, finally decided on a technique now, feels great- will slowly add weight.
Leg ext: 10x35, 7x65
Leg press: 10x200kg, 10x250kg, 6x340kg
Squat: 10x60kg, 10x100kg, 8x140kg (more in the tank, but left it there before form went sloppy)
Ham curls: 10x35, 7x65
Stiff (locked) leg deads: 10x100kg, 8x150kg
Calf press: 10x100kg, 10x200kg, 7x200kg
Home. Not fasted today, got up 30mins earlier than normal (0500) and got some breakfast and caffeine, snoozed for 15 mins then to the gym. Felt awesome, glute not hurting (much) either. On the up
