Bench Press:

55 kg x 8
70 kg x 5
82.5 kg x 5
97.5 kg x 5

110 kg x 5 = PB

Woke up with loads of bruises on my biceps and forearms, and sore legs/upper back/traps from events training yesterday, so just did a few 50 kg squats to get the blood flowing.

Pull ups:

+5kg x 8
+5kg x 8
+5 kg x 4 (failure)

Curls:

40 kg x 10 (1 cheated)


Foam rolled for 15 mins, feel better for it now. Will do squats and rows tomorrow morning

Yeah, most people on this site seem to be from the midlands or the north. I'm doing Mark Clegg's 1st timer's comp in March actually. Where abouts you from??

From Andover, about 40 miles away. Apparently in about 45mins away from Strength tec. Want to get down there some when soon.

Would defo recommend strength tec, the guys are as friendly as they are massive there!

Strict Press Paused:

40 kg x 5
50 kg x 5
62.5 kg x 5

77.5 kg x 4 Paused PB Didn't attempt rep 5, 4 was a grind!

Push Press:

50 kg x 4
70 kg x 3

95 kg x 1 and dropped it on the way down- supposed to have been 3 reps!

90 kg x 3 failed rep 4
92.5 kg x 2 failed rep 3

Well below my best on this, will drop the weight to 85 kg next session and work on sets of 5.

Front Squats:

40 kg x 5
50 kg x 5
60 kg x 5

75 kg x 5 PB

Getting a proper clean grip now- excellent!

Deadlifts:

70 kg x 8
120 kg x 5
160 kg x 3

200 kg x 5, the 6th rep was inches from lockout, tried to hitch it and my grip went! Will repeat this weight next week for 7 reps hopefully.

Chins:

Now that I have established the rack position I'd like to start doing my presses from this position. Did push press from the rack clean grip for 8 x 50 kg, and 4 x 70 kg. (Not locked out) Found this a little awkward.

Pendlay:

62.5 kg x 5
72.5 kg x 5

90 kg x 3 fail 4 (haven't done these for a while)

(Did these because my chest felt a little underworked from my spotted barbell attempt)

Bruised forearms now, probably going to regret this tomorrow morning.
