So another 5 months of training.... I imagine your total being about 550kg by then. Staying injury free is probably the most important thing then. All the best fella, I really hope you do well!

Thanks a lot mate. Being 10% or so stronger would really make things that much more manageable, so I hope your right!

75 kg x 5 Paused PB

Push Press:

50 kg x 5
70 kg x 3

95 kg x 2 failed 3
Tried a slightly wider grip

95 kg x fail

55 kg x 6 and tried double dip jerk on 2 of the reps, felt good

Not good

Overhead lockouts:

Pins set to forehead level, first time doing these

50 kg x 5
60 kg x 5
75 kg x 4

Front Squat:

40 kg x 5
50 kg x 5
60 kg x 5
70 kg x 4 (bicep hurting so stopped) PB

Back squat:

50 kg x 5
70 kg x 5

Deadlift:

70 kg x 8
120 kg x 5
160 kg x 5

195 kg x 6 PB

Needed 5 kg to make a 500 kg total so:

215 kg x 1 PB

Chins:

BW x 8

Oh sodom I just realized you deadlifted 215. When I did 210 you were still on 200 and now you've overtaken me. I am very jealous and angered that you continue to make progress. Well done

Bench Press:

55 kg x 8
67.5 kg x 5
80 kg x 5
95 kg x 5

115 kg x 3 PB and not a complete grind either!
92.5 kg x 8

Squat:

Thought I'd try paused squats for a bit seeing as grinding out slow reps on 150kg+ has left me a little weaker than I once was.

70 kg x 5 (normal)
90 kg x 5 (normal)

110 kg x 5 each rep 2 second pause at the ATG position
120 kg x 5
130 kg x 5 = Default PB

110 kg x 8 (normal)

Pendlay:

Apart from bench I'd been feeling really tired and not in the groove today, squats had been far from their best a couple of weeks ago and I felt too tired to do Pendlay rows, FTOH, pull ups and curls. Cut the session short here.

Your strength has been good lately. Wanted to post about your obscene set with 195kg but my phone was being a peen peen.
great work with the reps, super strong lifting!

I reckon the paused reps'll do you some good. The explosiveness out of the hole should give you some good momentum for the rest of the rep. Hope it works well for you Happy

Went strength tec in Portsmouth today:

Log press (full size log):

(One clean) 75 kg x 3 push, 1 strict

80 kg x 2
90 kg x 1 PB, went up much easier than I thought!
95 kg x Fail, not particularly close,

80 kg x 5 (3 cleans)

Picked up quite a lot of tips on this. I need to lean back at the top as I hold the log before the press, and my clean needs quite a lot of work. Front squats will be vital from now on

Barell Press:

~60 kg x many all strict

90 kg x many attempts at cleans 3 of which were succesful

Barell is hard to get leg drive into!

Farmers walk:

70 kg x 25 m (one turn)

70 kg x 25 m (one turn one drop) with fat grips

80 kg x 25 m (multiple drops) with fat grips

90 kg x pick up only with fat grips

90 kg x 12.5 m regular grips

haha don't worry abour me we're not even going to be in the same weight category! seriously you should get some practise in though, learning how to clean and press a barell was invaluable!
