You training has really come on and I think 200x6kg Deadlift may give you more than 220kg but I could be wrong

Haha, yes that was me Grin

I was pretty fatigued after my workset, from fresh I think I'd stand a better chance on 220. Happy

Didn't get a lot of sleep last night due to the housemates coming back pissed and waking me at 3am!

Bench:

57.5 kg x 8
70 kg x 5
85 kg x 5
97.5 kg x 5 (still easy)

115 kg x 2 (fail 3) Pretty dissapointing, I expected to have an easy triple on this.

100 kg x 5 (supposed to have done 8 but I left it at 5 as it was difficult)

Squats:

Sore legs still from when I went to circuit training at the uni on thursday!

70 kg x 5
90 kg x 5
110 kg x 5
125 kg x 5 (harder than it should be)

147.5 kg x 3 PB (a little easier than anticipated)

110 kg x 8 PB (Pretty fatigued at this point, knees bowing in etc)

Pendlay:

50 kg x 5
60 kg x 5
72.5 kg x 5

87.5 kg x 2 (failed rep 3)
62.5 kg x 8

Continental Clean into Push Press:

50 kg x 3
70 kg x 2

85 kg x 3 PB

95 kg x 1 PB

Farmers walks:

First time doing these, I used the 50 kg DB's but they kept banging on my thighs and felt awkward, used chalk too.

Pick up, walk ~10m, turn walk back, turn walk back, put down. Total distance in the set ~30 m

Did this set twice.

100 kg x 5

Was supposed to do chins, dips and curls but was too tired!

Not at all, but that's life I guess, you can't have everything set up perfectly all the time

I'm going to be doing Mark Clegg's "Champions of the Future" comp in March 2012- am getting pretty excited already!

I'm going to add a little conditioning and events work to my workouts from now on. The equipment at Southampton uni gym is a little limited for this unfortunately..

I shall be doing continental clean and press on an oly bar to mimic an axle.

Farmers walk all I have access to are a couple of 50 kg DB's- hopefully I will be able to practically sprint with these in a few weeks.

For cardio I think I will be going to circuit training at the uni every Thursday. If not then a few barbell complexes!

I'll be aiming to be weighing 104 kg on the day of the contest, which means I can't gain more than ~3kg bodyweight in the next 5 months.

And I will have to see about doing a couple of events sessions at StrengthTec before Christmas. Anyone else trained there?

I think it would help your progress if you ate a calorie surplus and gained a little bodyweight to be honest (unless your unusually short).

Bench Press:

Deloaded bench today

50 kg x 8
62.5 kg x 5
75 kg x 5
87.5 kg x 5

100 kg x 7 (failed 8th)

Not a great start when 8 is my PB

Squat:

70 kg x 5
90 kg x 5
110 kg x 5
125 kg x 5

147.5 kg x 5 PB

Tough, poor form in last 2 reps, but at least squat is still progressing

Pendlay:

50 kg x 5
60 kg x 5
72.5 kg x 5

85 kg x 4 (failed rep 5) PB

Floor to overhead via continetal clean:

50 kg x 3
70 kg x 2

87.5 kg x 3 PB

100 kg x Fail

I had a bit of a mental block on 100, video to follow later.

Chins x 8
Pull ups x 7
Chins x 5

Wasn't really feeling it so went home and ate!

Pretty poor session today, sleep wasn't optimal, but not awful either. My body feels a bit tired so I'm going to take time off till Sunday. Will be deloading everything except my squat too. Also going to try and eat and sleep a little more.

Strict Press:

40 kg x 5
50 kg x 5
65 kg x 5

80 kg x 3 = PB but harder than last week, didn't attempt rep 4

Push Press:

50 kg x 4
70 kg x 3

95 kg x 1 = PB (supposed to being doing this for 2 sets of 3, but on the way down I lost control and ended up dropping the bar.

97.5 kg x Fail
97.5 kg x Fail

Wanted a new 1RM to feel better but it wasn't happening, second attempt was a little closer though.

Squats:

70 kg x 5
90 kg x 5
110 kg x 5
110 kg x 5

Deadlifts:

70 kg x 8
120 kg x 5
160 kg x 4

205 kg x 3 (last rep hitched very slightly)

I didn't attempt rep 4, looking back at it, I think it may have gone up. I think my belt was a little tight today and I wore headphones and my phone was digging into my leg distracting me. But I'm probably just making excuses Tongue

Time to deload now and keeping Madcow progressing..

That 97.5kg pp will fall soon. With tech comes ultimate glory. You'll nail it soon! Good luck Happy
I reckon your deads are well into PB taking territory too. They're good numbers too.

Thanks guys, it wasn't that bad a session I suppose!

Missed Fridays session for a little extra recovery, I felt better for it when training this morning.

BW: 99 kg clothed on uni scales, more like 101-102 kg

Bench:

52.5 kg x 5
65 kg x 5
77.5 kg x 5
90 kg x 5

102.5 kg x 7 PB, happy with this

Squat:

70 kg x 5
90 kg x 5
110 kg x 5
127.5 kg x 5

150 kg x 3 (failed rep 4) PB

Last time I missed a rep on squats I was doing 130 x 3 (11 weeks ago), 150 x 5 next time hopefully Happy

Pendlay:

50 kg x 5
60 kg x 5
72.5 kg x 5

85 kg x 5 (just) PB

Clean into front squat (I can't seem to get the front squat grip correct unless I clean it first):

50 kg x 5
60 kg x 5
70 kg x 3 (lost balance and had to dump rep 4, but I enjoyed fronties)

Pull ups:

Am going to do 3 x 8 each Monday session increasing the weight weekly

BW x 8
BW x 8
BW x 6 (didn't try 7)

Farmers walks:

50 kg DB in each hand, my track is 8m long.

8m, turn, 8 m turn.... for 6 x 8 m = 48 m

8m sprint, rest 60 seconds, did this twice

8m x 3 to finish (grip was fried)

Incline curls:

17.5 kg x 2 x 8

Preacher curls:

10 kg each side x 8
12.5 kg x 6
