What are you hoping to hit? Did you go straight to a suit or did you get briefs first? Squats are looking strong.
AvatarBigMacca
Nice work of late Luke, everything is looking strong mate!

I still don't like your deadlift setup (feet too close) as you look unstable as fook to me, but if it's working for ya.......

Cheers mate. 260 - 125 - 235 has a nice ring to it...

I went with a suit. My suit is a single ply Titan Super Centurion. Before this comp I used an old Titan Centurion.

Cheers Macca. I *think* its working for me, the proof will come on July 3rd!

Quick training update, cba doing everything:

Bench: Sucked major balls. Will get it right on the day.
Squats: Feeling good and strong.
Deadlift: Feeling much better, really want a PB on comp day.
AvatarLukeC
Keeping the training ticking over, nice and light. Only a few days to go now, I cant wait!
AvatarLukeC
Weighed in at 80.something, currently enjoying max eating and max rest.

Tomorrow the fun really begins...

Brits:

230

120

220

Meh.

Back to training. And lots of it.
AvatarLukeC
Oh yeah I have a journal...

So basically at the moment im trying out this stupid squat every day, bench and deadlift loads routine. I think im still adapting to it atm and my training has been inconsistent since the Brits for one reason or another. So ive been in the gym 3 days in a row then not for 3 days, stuff like that. So mixed results so far, all I know is that I have a lot of work to do before im remotely happy with what im lifting.

Here is my training from today, will try and get back into the habit of updating.

120kg x 1
140kg x 1
160kg x 1
170kg x 1 - 1 rep PB
180kg x F - bad lack of technique

Decent squats. I have a lot to learn on Sumo but although my tech sucks it is improving all the time. Will roll with it for now.
MrSmall

Good session. Need some work on consistent depths on my squats. Sumo tech is slowly improving, a few horrid reps but a few decent ones as well.

Thursday 2th July:

SSB Box Squats (lower box):
45kg x 3
45kg x 3
65kg x 3
85kg x 3
105kg x 3
125kg x 1
145kg x 1
165kg x 1
175kg x 1
185kg x 1 (left a mat on the box that was there for my training partner so depth was left)
185kg x 1 - felt much harder than it should because of cock up on previous set
165kg x 2
165kg x 2
165kg x 2

Floor Press:
40kg x 5
60kg x 3
70kg x 1
80kg x 1
90kg x 1
92.5kg x 1
95kg x 1 - 1 rep PB
85kg x 2
85kg x 2
85kg x 2

Box squats were good, this box was a good inch below so no doubts about the depth here! The 165s were tough but got better each set. Floor press was good.

You're looking stronger every day!

(This is hyperbole-free truth).

Cheers bro. Happy

Luuuuuukey said:Sumo?

Sumo indeed, thought I would give it a go. Partly out of curiosity, partly because my conventional deadlift had stalled and I figured a change might do me some good both physically and mentally, and partly because in theory I should be better at sumo since I am a smaller lifter and squatting is my strength.

1st August 2011:

GHR, 2 sets of 5

Squats:
bar x lots
40kg x 5
40kg x 5
60kg x 3
80kg x 3
100kg x 3
125kg x 2
145kg x 2
160kg x 1
170kg x 1
180kg x 1
185kg x 1 - deepest I have taken 400lb+ raw
160kg x 2
162.5kg x 2
165kg x 2

Sumo Deadlifts:
60kg x 3
80kg x 2
100kg x 1
120kg x 1
140kg x 1
160kg x 1
170kg x 1
175kg x 1 - PB
140kg x 1

Wide grip pullups, 3 sets of 2

Decent session, getting b**ched at constantly about depth is a pain in the ass but its 'for my own good' I suppose! Going from dead level to good depth doesn't seemed to have taken anything off my squat so its all about consistency and confidence getting that last little bit of depth for me.
