Sam, i'm surprised that you over train considering you supplement so to speak.

I think it's easier to over train on supplements than it is without

They push the body into achieving things that are not possible without (or at least speed up the process of reaching those goals) and it's hard to gauge when to stop, slow down, back off, as you feel you can do more sometimes and get back into the gym quicker, but in reality the body is still recovering from the increased stress and strain placed on it that wouldn't be achieved naturally.

This is definitely true for me, sessions where you 'feel' ready to train but aren't quite ready are when injuries happen. Learnt that the hard way over the years. These days I'd rather skip a session/day and play it safe.

For those of you who feel that you do sometimes go into a state of overtraining, does your appetite seem to change for the good or for the worse?

E.g. iv been pushing it quite hard for the last 8 weeks since i went on holiday, frequency and weekly volume on the main lifts where relatively high untill the last 2 weeks. My bodyweight was slowly increasing with my calories staying the same, then all of a sudden it dropped quite alot over the course of a week without a change in my diet. Iv increased my calorie intake since then but bodyweight still isnt going back up.

Over training ruins my appetite which in turn makes recovery even harder!

Yer most things ive read have said this, and sometimes excess weight gain is also listed. Maybe my metabolism has temporarily sped up by alot. But i have been struggling to wake up on a morning, but keep getting up through the night, aching for the first time in ages too which is strange.

Struggling to wake/get up is a major sign I need to back off.
I lose weight while overtrained, very quickly!

Ive overplayed with it many times.

3 times a day was ok at 13 but not at 42!!!

Its age dependent. Once a day and I feel weak and trouble walking. Also, takes a lot more planning and warm up to get me in the mood now my testosterone levels have droppedRoll-Eyes

What was the Q again?
