Ye you should see the state of the dumbs now, there are tons missing because they are broken but a shiny brand new set of dumbs will be arriving soon. The biggest problem with big gyms like this is the huge amount of 16 and 17 year old lads who come just to pose and look hard.

P.S Heads up to all you fellas near to total fitness at whitefield. We are 'secretely' organising a gym strongman comp. Should be wicked.

Right just had some physio and a sports massage for my back and it is feeling much better but it still isnt 100%. Do i still train tonight but work on technique and reps, do i just go all out as i normally would or do i skip it altogether??

Only you can answer that mate. Really depends how it feels. Why dont you warm up as normal and then make a decision based on how everything feels?

Dont push for the sake of pushing. Injuries certainly dont help progress.

Very true mate. My problem always is that i dont pay enough attention to avoiding injuries while training. Will destroy my hamstrings tonight after a bit of technique work on my deadlift i reckon. Will get back to you how it went when im in my wheelchairCool.

Light deadlift, hamstring and cardio

Deadlift
80kg x 10
100kg x 8
120kg x 8
130kg x 8
140kg x 6
100kg x 12

Iso hamstring curl
25kg x 8
35kg x 6
42kg x 4
50kg x 2
52kg x 1
55kg x 1
30kg x 8

25mins bike working at 70%

15mins stretching

I was able to get out a bit of deadlifting even though my back is still a little sore but i made sure to stay atleast two reps away from max on each set. Got another physio session on friday to make sure i am 110% for sunday.

Well guys some bad news. Was workin on my squatting on saturday and was feeling some pain again in my oblique but it was real bad this time. Had a sit down and as i stood up again i felt a huge tear in my side which left me in agony. Well i was taken to the hospital and i have a large tear in my right oblique. It seems that there had been a tear there for a good amount of weeks which my physiotherapist should have spotted and didnt(It was my physio who told me to carry on training). Well this has left me with bandages around my abdoman and excrutiating pain. Will take up to 4 months for my recovery to be enough to train again. Gutted....

man, that is a bummer! How can something like that happen??? You mean the main problem came when you stood up? Was the muscle cramping or something?

Sorry to hear that mate, heres one for speedy recovery!

Sorry to hear that mate. Especially as you've already seen a physio.. not much more you could have done.

Good luck with the recovery and hopefully you can do lots of bench work soon.

Cheers joni and rob. I was told that it would have torn while squatting and than standing up after resting sent it into spasm causing the pain and actually tearing it more. I plan to really work on my bench starting in about 2 weeks but normal movement atm is a bit painfull and i cannt reach any sort of good arch. I will come back bigger and stronger thoGrin(i mean fatter and weakerUnhappy)

(edited for spelling)

Revalation today. Had a session today with the intention of doing a bit of cardio and some very light deads. After the warm up got onto some 60kg deads for 10 which felt apsolutely fine so eased up and the session went like this:-

Deadlifts

60kg x 10
80kg x 8
100kg x 8
115kg x 6
125kg x 5 x 5(sets)

I couldnt beleive how natural and easy these felt but i made sure not to go any higher for the risk of hurting myself, i only had a little problem on the last 2 sets of the 125 of lockout but otherwise was fine

Squats

80kg x 3
90kg x 3
100kg x 3
105kg x 3
95kg x 3
65kg x 8 (with pause at the bottom)

15 mins cycling

I started to feel my oblique hurt a little bit on the 105 on the squats but otherwise i am very very happy with today. I think starting next week if everything still feels ok i will start doin some platform deads or maybe box squats.
